Since I am now in the same boat, I appreciate you taking the time to respond so thoughtfully. The suggestions are great! Since posting yesterday, I have begun searching for window treatments. Here is where I am at: DR- Pottery Barn is having a sale on Duponi Silk panels so I will go and check out the colors in person. It looked like JC Penney had a good selection too. The ceilings are 9 ' so should I go with a 108" panel? Where would you put the rod? Between the window and transom or at the ceiling height? Also, any thoughts on color? Kitchen- Good point regarding a blind being in the way. I love the warmth of the bamboo/woven shades but will wait on that a little to see how it "lives." I do think that morning sun may be an issue. Family Room- Both sets of windows are in the great room. The windows above the fp are on the front wall and will likely stay uncovered. The TV will go on the side wall. The wall of windows & window seat go across the back wall of the house. Gobruno- I see your point about blinds on the only the lower windows breaking up the look but I know I will need coverage. Long sheer panels sound pretty- light and flowy so I will have to think about that. pps7- if I only did panels on the bottom 1/2, would the rod go below the transoms? That is is so far... Any additional opinions or pictures would be appreciated and thanks again. 2 other quick comments: Gobruno- thanks for the advice about S&N. I have black out panels for each of the kids rooms but the roller shades seem like a great option beneath them & also for other spaces. I will definitely be checking them out! pps7- your master bath has always been an inspiration. I intend to copy your look exactly for the window above the tub :). Would you mind sharing the details?

My post got long .. here's what I wanted to say. I believe that 30 , 3 minute videos, watched one after another . which means they would have to be downloaded together.. not picked and watched from youtube.. is the best way i've learned to understand new topics i want to learn about. With this in mind if someone can help , not by using a one at a time converter. but by a bulk , 30 video downloader for Youtube or google video, I will be glad to explain why it's the best way to learn. and I'm willing to make a nice donation, of $30 or more to a charity of the choice of the person helping with the method to bulk save about 30 or 40 videos at a time. I said i would explain why in detail if you want I'm glad to do it. And i'm willing to donate because it's a good time where people need donations and I have the money to donate. and it's something i'm asking for. Thanks for listening and reading. I spent hours trying to write something useful but it got confusing and so finally you got the gist of what I meant to say. : ) All with good intentions for me, the group, and people who could benefit by the assistance of a technical helper. I posted here because people in this thread were the type who were the type I think would benefit by the type of learning I've had success with using youtube and many downloads. But what I offer is too much to suggest . . to people with not much time. That's why I needed a helper to create the downloader routine. Yes there are some already but the ones I've used are 1 at a time and that's too slow and tedious in my experience. I wanted to help everyone and this group was one I thought i could help and explain why .. : ) Be well

Those original lamps are now split between the kitchen lounge and the living room. I think these old lamps are passé now! I had a similar-sized chest on that side and since I had to pull it out to get the ladder in place, I tried this small table. I'd like to find a matching pair of lamps for my master since I like those others in so many places! What about these since they're the same color as my overhead fixture and rods. Modern drum shade? I'm concerned that they're too tall at 31" with shade. These are metallic in color on the base and 27" high: More bookmarked lamps to come...my web has slowed down

I hope you still are wanting to lean into some fun pops of color in accessories. With the strong pattern and color in the drapes and your desire for bright color, I think bright color in accessories is needed. I continue to be on the yellow train... have you purchased any accessories yet or are you still in the looking phase?
