Favorite daylily selfs

I think self daylilies get ignored at times. A few of mine actually catch my eye in the garden. sometimes the simplicity makes them stand out. Please show your favorites.

Buttered Popcorn catches the eye here. It is growing and blooming near the base of an old blue spruce. I love seeing the burst of color in the SHADE.

Delicate oldie Broaded Gown.

Coyote Moon is a bloom machine.

I really like Soco Gap!! Nice form. I too have Red Volunteer and also have it in a rather shady spot. It fades in the sun but is perfect with lots of shade! Not exactly sure of the definition of self--one solid color?

Green Inferno

Hyperion. Reliable oldie, best scented.

Christopher Russell x Orange Velvet, Very well budded, large, tall.

Wind Frills x Fondly Kin. Very Very tall, very well budded.

So Lovely x North Wind Dancer

Smoky Mt. autumn x Jolyene Nichole

I think that is all.

Most of the selfs I grow are yellow. I always prefer daylilies with two or more colors over lilies that show just one color, so the ones in colors other than yellow did not make the move.

Absolute Treasure was a self that performed very well last season. It had not done well in many years, probably because of grub predation. I left it behind but have fond memories of its exceptional last hurrah.

Frozen Margarita

Sun Temple Spirit was my favorite yellow self. It should have made the trip, but didn't. I'd love to have a start of it again.

Nancy, I really like the bold color of your Rocky Top intro! It has a beautiful pattern on the sepals. Ocktoberfest is a great performer for me too. Wish my other Maryott daylilies grow as well. Kate, that's a really nice clump shot of Rasp. Candy! Signet, my favorites of yours are Linda Sierra, Hold Your Horses, and Rainbow Maker. Debra, Blazing Sadles and seedling are very nice! Brad, your Maleny Debutante is very pretty. That green throat really pops. The color combination reminds me of Ruby Lipstick. Yes Regency Heights is a real looker , if you have a chance to add it I highly recommend it I have had Regency Heights for a number of years . Then two years ago I dug it up mid summer to trade a piece and replanted . I am guessing the drought stressed it to the point that when winter came with no snow cover it succumbed due to my stupidity .. Replaced it last year as I had done back flips trying to track this one down originally. It is quite hardy but conditions here have been dreadful the last few years so I don;t dig mid summer anymore.

I had a lot of red seedlings I liked a lot, but time and space prohibited moving all of them. These were my top favorites and are now planted in Indiana. Most of them are evergreen, so they may or may not survive the winter. Red Venom X Dancing Flamingo is dormant, so I expect it will do well. I wonder if the flowers will be 8 inches in diameter here. Brad - The two seedlings you posted are lovely.

Sherry - Mary Todd makes an awesome display! Buttered Popcorn is a good one. I grew it for many years until too much shade made it dwindle away.
