exterior remodel ideas please

My house is in need of some fresh materials. Roof is new so now I’m thinking white replacement windows and new white porch railings. Trying to maybe go with vinyl trim so i won’t have some much paint to keep up with. Not sure about new siding or not. Maybe black gutters??? So confused… please help.

Gutters are not a design feature. They should blend in not stand out as black will.

Nice house, I can see why you're excited! I don't have a picture but just a thought ... is there a way of expanding the landing? I can sort of picture walking up a half-flight to pause at a deck, maybe sitting for a bit and enjoying the view, before walking the rest of the way up. I like tozmo1's last picture with the widely spaced horizontal boards to "hide the underbelly".

It is always important to design the interior changes along with the look on the exterior. IMO those kitchen windows are too small , the style of the basic house is MCM ranch but I do not like tha gable above those kitchen windows . Painting brick IMO is never a good idea and before doing that you need to figure out what style of house you want this to be? The real trick now is to stop and think about what look you want. If it was my house I would remove the gable not do an addition above the garage ( which BTW is never a good place for bedrooms) I would also like to see what you did inside , that will give me clue as to your style for sure. I need to see all sides of the house the square windows are a bit odd IMO. Where is the driveway, where is the road facing the house.

More and more people here in Austin are building with brick and leaving it natural, and I love the look. I agree with removing the shutters. What about black trim and then landscaping. I would not put up an awning, it's dark enough. if you need shade, a colorful sun sail? or pergola slats? is that a parking spot right outside the door? I would build out that whole area and make a courtyard. with built in seating and planters, plant some evergreens, soften the appearance. Brighten up the entry walls, the door, and beef up the two posts. Is it a business open to walkins? Maybe some good signage?

Gutters aren’t a feature, they are part of the trim. If you are getting white windows paint all the trim white including soffit and gutter

What stands out to me is the entry door with the curved window above. It just doesn’t fit with the peaked roof of the porch entry. If any room in the budget for closing the half-circle and a different door then spend money there.

White windows, doors, trim (all trim including door frame & sidelites) & gutters. If you can get rid of the half round transom I would do that in a second as it is out of place. Lose the shutters, at the very least on the two wide windows. Clean up the landscaping by cutting back some of the bushes. What type siding is on the home currently? What type might you be thinking of changing it to?

I’m afraid it’s not in my budget to change above my door window. I would think that would be very expensive and honestly I like it. It may be out of style but it is what made me fall in love with the house in the first place. I’m mostly looking for color choices and porch railing ideas. The siding is vinyl and I probably will have to stay with vinyl but change color when I replace it.
