I need some window treatment help for this kitchen window
Comments (3)Vicki, I think a roman shade would look very nice! You could install it inside or you could hang it just below the crown molding on the cabinets. Depending on how much fabric you have and how much you want to spend, you could also make a mock roman shade that doesn't function. On this job I have mock roman shades inside the window in one area and then on the outside due to window depth limitations on another area....See MoreWindow treatment help for odd shaped windows
Comments (6)Roller shades or Roman shades that raise and lower would be odd and impractical in front of doors. If you have them lowered even a tad the door is blocked. The logical solution is no shades but drapes for doors and windows and hung on the horizontal beam across all windows and doors in the room. Make the rods wide so they can open without blocking any glass....See Morekitchen window seat window treatment help
Comments (10)Your space is very pretty! It is crisp, and clean, and I know you want a window treatment, but consider something that you can launder, or something you will not need to launder. It is a kitchen. Window privacy films mount with a bit of water, are completely removable, inexpensive, and they don’t block the light unless you buy a high privacy film for that purpose. I used Artscape Old English in my sister’s Tudor style home’s first floor bathroom. She had a curtain in there (awful), did not even want to hear about privacy film because it is vinyl, and now thanks me for installing it; the curtain is gone. There are many options and patterns, they reduce UV damage, and you might find they give you what you need for the lower window, with or without a curtain. Comments (16)thanks @steveetheridge -- I love the idea of shutters. Most of the year these windows don't need to be covered. It's just in winter when the sunrise in the east comes in my dining window at a blinding angle! (the wonder of living in the mountains). I had one person come to the house who said that shutters would have to cover all of the trim, including the rosettes, etc, and he didn't recommend that look. I can reconsider in the future....See MoreRelated Professionals
