Three holes for single-hole faucet! Options?
Comments (5)As others mentioned, I would either have them replace the piece or find a new faucet (at their cost maybe?). Since it is not a natural material, you won't be losing anything with a new piece. I would not be willing to live with something that looks like a retrofit just for a discount....See More8'' Widespread faucet holes, but 1-hole faucet w/soap dispensers?
Comments (9)Old post but I have a similar issue. We bought a house with a bridge faucet (so just two holes in the marble top.) The faucet is now leaking and can't be fixed. To replace it, bridge faucets START at $350 and go up from there to the $1000 price range. We also have another sink on the other side of the bathroom, so if you replace one that will be roughly $400-$700, we probably should replace the other. The second option is to drill a third hole, for a standard wide spread set up. But for a third and budget option, I was looking at some single hole faucets, and putting a soap dispenser on the second hole. I am assuming you would put the water faucet on the left hole, and soap on the right (that is what comes to mind for a right handed person) but I am not sure. This is a home we will move from in about 3 years give or take. Trying to think budget, aesthetics, and function. And would a home buyer think "what the heck?" or say "awesome." You cannot see the other vanity area as the shower and toilet area are in the middle of the bathroom, so I am thinking I can have one faucet on one, and another set up on the other, as long as they are in the same bronze family and similar style (these have an old vintage look to them.) Thoughts?...See MoreSingle hole vs. three hole sink faucets
Comments (12)I agree. We had to special order a single hole sink for our Kohler Fairfax faucet. We had a 2 handle one before. It is SO much easier now, both for temperature adjustment and cleaning. I think it's way better for the kids too--Now I feel like they might get warm water, instead of them just using the cold handle because it's too much of a hassle to adjust the temperature! Anyway, the Fairfax isn't at all modern, but it only comes in brushed nicked, not polished nickel. We're about to do our master bath remodel--I hope I can still get a 1-hole sink! Comments (21)I completely agree with raehelen and trebruchet. That fabricated stone price is really good, and if you wait for another piece it 1) may not be quite as pretty or 2) may be much more expensive. It the scheme of things, it will look fine and once you put everything together, you'll be surprised it probably wont even bother you. As an alternative, you could do a soap dispenser in one hole and a hole cover on the other, but I think the escutcheon plate would look more delibrate and planned so I'd do that. As far as the faucet - I just got two Delta Cassidy for my master bath build and installed them this week. (I got the 1997LF version which is just like that one but a few inches taller and is called a bar/prep faucet. Needed a little more height since I have semi-recesesed sinks) and they really are GORGEOUS looking in person, especially at the price. Every remodel is a bit of give and take -- For example, I wanted undermount sinks, but due to drawer configuration in the sink bases, it was near to impossible, and "settled" with Decolav Semi-Recessed. Looking at them now, I wonder why I was so doubtful since they look spectacular. Sometimes having to shift the vision makes it even better :) Don't sweat the small stuff, get the granite piece you love, at the price that's too good to pass up, and pair with the great faucet (Even with the escutcheon plate). It will look great....See MoreRelated Professionals
