If you remove the wall between the kitchen and dr the kitchen gets even less wall space. I think you have to completely absorb the dininnette with a peninsula coming off that plumbing stack. The range goes in front of the current window. Hopefully you can replace all the windows on that wall to be larger with a solid wall behind the hood- that might be the only upper. Current fridge wall could be all tall cabinets with two pantries, fridge, and a microwave/ wo cabinet. It’s not perfect and traffic goes through the kitchen which I can’t fix unless we can move the kitchen into the dining room and the current kitchen becomes the dining room with large sliders to the yard.

Could the wall where the current stove is become a wide peninsula or even island?

Wo is shorthand for wall oven. Yes you could remove that wall but then you lose storage and now the kitchen ‘bleeds’ into another room and affects the furniture arrangement there.

When you're frustrated with a space it is tempting to think removing walls will solve the problem, but sometimes that just creates other issues. Hallett's idea is the same thing I thought of when looking at your floorplan, and he's a pro, so give it careful consideration.

Move the double window over the sink. Then use the old dinette space for a floor to ceiling pantry and counter space extended from the sink.

Forgt the bay window and use that space as part of a really good kitchen layout you have aDR right there no need for kitchen dining at all but a nice long stretch of counter and lots of drawers storage would be a huge improvemnt .

Stove on outside wall is the best position for ventilation and in this case, for traffic flow as well.

Do not do bay windows, they really mess with your furniture placement. I would continue the counter and cabinet run all the way through the long kitchen wall and under the windows.

We are really liking a cooktop in the outside wall. Windows are old , so we want to place counter stove sink and fridge along that wall and then address window placement. Not a huge fan of fridge on that wall, so that's open for considersidation

The structural wall could be an island, peninsula. Or a hexagonal peninsula to keep from causing too much issues with the front room. We even thought of a pass through because the front room has morning sun. What would these options look like? What looks odd? What doesn't work?
