Terry: Yikes! Boy, you must be brave. They are very sour. It is best to add salt first or better still, get about 3 or 4 cals squeeze them in an iced glass of filtered water add a full tablespoon of sugar and use them as lemonade er... calade. All my 3 kids love them. OPtion add 1 squezzed fresh orange. Better still (I've never done this yet) in a blender, add about half full of filtered water, 2 cups of ice and about 20 calamondin all squezzed first in a glass remove the seeds and pour the cals in the blender and add about 1/2 cup of sugar and blend for 30 seconds. I always do this with my Eureka lemon 1 lemon 3 oranges and 1/2 cup sugar, 2 cups ice 2 cups water and blend. This is a cheap pitcher of beverage. And healthy too. Bet your kids and family will love it.

Toni, you hit it right on the nail!!! Your right, just so happens that this particular plant is growing in soiless mix in which the particles of bark are a little to big and there is lots of air space. This is the first and only plant I planted in this batch of soil when I first started to learn how to make it. I know I made it incorrectly, because the particle sizes are too big. All my other soil I made, I used smaller particles of bark which has worked perfect for me. And now that I perfected it, I should repot thsi tree in spring into the perfected soiless that stays moist a little longer than a day at a time...lol All my other plants in this perfected soiless mix can go for a 2-3 days under lots of light which I provide all winter, but this Calamondin tree is in a soil that I have to watch and wet everyday. I suppose to much air getting into the soil. A couple of times I forgot to water, and I think instead of the tree wilting, the leaves just go into shock and dry up hard on the branch because they are thicker older leaves. With this tree, you can never tell if it doesn't have enough water, because it doesn't wilt when too dry like my other trees! Since I have been watching this one more closely, and watering everyday now, I am not loosing anymore leaves. YES!!! See, I guess we can hurt a tree from underwatering too... :-) Thanks alot everyone for all your help and thoughts!

You can use the same as any acid citrus, in salads, cooked food, marmalade, beverage like lemonade. It is very used in the Philippines and they use it a lot!, they make a dish called pancit which is very good and sprinkle the calamondin on top. All my acid citrus I start to use at the full size, they can be green and of course when they are fully ripened also. This way I get to use them for a longer season. Well my post as gone cold. So I just thought I wold post a final question, if anyone would know the answer. BTW...I just got my seeds of 'Box of Chocolates' seeds. 6 variates!! But my question is...i am TRYING to grow double yellow daturas, i have been taken advantage of 2 times so far, by 2 sellers, sending me the plain old double purple/white ones. After months of growing then, to only get those blooms, ICK!! So this is my third try and 3rd seller. I have seedlings up, these are taking a lot longer to grow than the others, but my question is, if THESE ARE the double yellow, would the stems by a lighter green, instead of the dark green/purplish color I have gotten 2 times already? The first and second set of true leaves are DARK green, nothing light about these seedlings. Will double yellow or even double white daturas, have lighter green stems? Or lighter leaves? Or does the stem color have nothing to due with the bloom colors? 'Purple Specks' on Ebay, now $4 for 30 seeds. I managed to get 6 variates...and triple white datura seeds. So...this should be fun:) !!!
