Comments (60)Mine is the climbing sport. This is her at the end of her Spring show. I am in south Louisiana and she is my absolute favorite of all my roses. I don’t care if she balls. There are SO many blooms that don’t that it doesn’t matter if some do. I adore this rose. She has few thorns and laughs at pests and diseases and her canes are dainty. shes not like New Dawn. She’s very pliable. I just love her. A happy easy going floriferous old fashioned cabbage rose who doesn’t quit. Her foliage is a lovely green too....See MorePictures of Souvenir de la Malmaison
Comments (33)Oh Sara, I hope mine does half as well when it's done growing up! I got SDLM in 2017 and put her on a bed that gets sun about half the year. Peonies do amazingly well there. SDLM sulked and balled up and grew backwards. This spring I moved her to a spot that gets much more sun and the response was practically instantaneous. The first bloom was a mess and I thought of someone here describing SDLM as balled-up used tissue (yup!), but she threw a bunch of other buds so I decided to give her a bit more time (I mean, it's only May). I think we have a stay on her execution......See MoreRecent Souvenir de la Malmaison bloom

Supposedly MB is slightly pinker, but I don't know that for a fact. Kate...See MoreSouvenir de la Malmaison/Mystic Beauty comparison
Comments (9)I'd love to have my Malmaison at that height - let's hope it'll grow soon :) I don't really like LO to be honest, beautiful when flowering and healthy, but it doesn't repeat well - i think that is one that needs to be prunes back hard after flowering so that it grows new flower branches. It loves to send out 7-8feet long canes during summer. This last season i was home first weekend of September (i'm normlly abroad) and chopped down all of them - then all of them grew 2-3 flower stems each - sadly it was too late and the November frost finished them. It probably would be better in a much bigger space, like in a corner, it grows HUUUGE...See MoreRelated Professionals
