Actually that might work - at least when we want to watch the tv by switching the big blue chair.

We live in Yukon, Canada (next to Alaska) and yes we have snow already!

Yes, I saw that Amazon.ca has quite a few different tv wall mounts that move up and down and that will ship to the Territories in Canada. It really was a great suggestion!

What about mounting it on the wall where it is and putting it on a swivel?

Is that the only way to arrange the furniture?

It easy to try it and see if it works. Don't worry about moving the tv yet, just move the furniture around.

There's a lot of seating in that room! I would lose the white sofa and flip the sectional so it's back is to the window. That leaves the wall across from the fireplace a great place for TV. I also would forego the haughty idea of floating it and push it back to the window, so you have room to walk in that room.

We did have the sectional with its back to the window but it blocked a lot of light.

We have the same issue. We put wheels on the TV cabinet, attached the TV firmly to the cabinet, and just wheel it over when we want to watch it.

I have the same problem. I put the tv behind something similar to your loveseat and lift it up and place it on the front of the loveseat to watch. I saved a large piece of cardboard from the shipping box to set it on, so the feet don't dig into the upholstery and I stash that behind the furniture, too. They aren't heavy and are easy to lift.

Olychick and partim have great ideas. I also have my tv stand on wheels. I love it. Most of the time I leave it and basically "listen" to tv and watch it at an angle but sometimes when I want to watch a movie I'll roll it out so I can watch it face on.

It looks like the best place for a TV will either be above the mantle, on an articulating arm so you can pull it down, or where the plant is beside the fireplace.

You could move the TV in front of the fireplace for occasional use, or you could put it on the wall where the gray couch is (at a decent height), and rearrange the furniture so that the couches face each other with the fireplace and TV on the open ends -- maybe the sectional in front of the window and the white one across from it, with arm chairs flanking the TV or at either end.

A floor plan to scale would help, but can you move the sectional so the back is to the dining area, and the blue chair over by the window. Mount the TV on the long wall facing the fireplace. Remove the white sofa., perhaps there is room in a bedroom or condo storage area if you don’t want to get rid of it.

Group your plants together in the corner where they get the most light. I’m impressed you can get indoor plants to grow given the reduced daylight in the Yukon! If you come across a console you can use behind the sofa it it’s new location that will help define the living area.
