Please dont hate me--reposting my finished kitchen!!! Pics!
Comments (12)Pllog--thank you for the kind words and understanding. It is a happy kitchen in a happy home. Doraville--yup, I know they are still small. In the battle of Karin vs Photobucket Resizing feature, the Resizing feature won. I surrender and acknowledge my defeat. I am about as sick of looking at these photos as I'm sure everyone else is who saw my original post and now this post so to spare everyone including myself added frustrationg--they will remain small and I can sleep soundly at night knowing that at least mini-pics of my kitchen made their debut on the Internet! I commend (sp?) everyone who takes awesome pics of their kitchen. I've learned now the key is 1 or 2 overall pics and mostly close-ups. I realize I missed these close-up shots. Oh well, live and learn. I'm 31 years old and this prob wont be my last kitchen remodel in my life...(although possible, I guess.) Next time I'll ACE the posting aspect of the kitchen remodel...who knew that would be my biggest hurdle?! LOL!...See Moreplease help me finish my breakfast room! w/pics
Comments (17)Some leather upholstered parsons chairs would go nicely with the lines of the table and the cabinetry, and would also have the same lines as the stools. Maybe you even want to do the red leather, as you've already established that as an accent color, and it looks like there's some red in the carpet under the table. Big plus -- they're easily dressed up with a slipcover when you're ready for a change. I think I can see quite a bit of wrought iron or oil rubbed bronze in the knobs, curtain rods & table lamps. I would use this as the jumping off point for the ceiling fixture. If you like chandeliers, maybe a curvy bronze chandelier with a few crystals hanging down (I mean a fun & flirty one, not a gaudy 70's number, lol!). Or you could go with a straighter lined one -- look at Pottery Barn Lowell & Veranda, for examples. I don't necessarily think the red side chairs are wrong...but I'm curious what bothers you about them. TO me it's just that they're kind of floating there with no real purpose. Like, if that's meant to be a reading area or a place to have a cup of tea, they need a little table between them. Think about what you want that space to be, and then you'll know how to address the chairs. Hth! Leigh...See MoreHelp me finish my kitchen, please? (pics)
Comments (16)Thank you all so much again for great the advice. The rush on the decision is because the contractor wants to do granite, backsplash and hardware next week. It does irritate me somewhat that I have asked for weeks about a time to go pick granite and tile. He is providing an allowance for granite and tile if we use his choice of fabricators, which is a good one, so I am not too concerned about that. It's just the hurry up and wait then hurry up again stuff that bugs me. For those of you who like the arches, the arch details are one of the main reasons we bought this house. They are thru out the main floor. Here is a picture of my family room that is open to the kitchen thru the archway you see covered by plastic in my previous pictures. Please excuse the excess clutter and the old fridge behind the sofa. (husband says he thinks he kinda likes it there now)...See MorePlease, please help me choose lighting for my kitchen.
Comments (6)Beautiful start to this kitchen! Here is a fixture I would recommend from Restoration Hardware. The brass is a bit brighter than what you have posted, but that can add a modern flair that will tie in to all the other more traditional lighting. Also with your wall colors, the brass would look great! RH Link (Click here) Let me know what you think!...See MoreRelated Professionals
