Like what your are planning. I would add a hedge of hydrangeas! Power wash the concrete and bricks.

Hold off on any color decisions until roof and overhang’s shingles are installed (or you have a sample you can reference) as pulling in the blue is really important. Duplicate its color on the door and paint the overhang the same color as house. Suggest trimming the scalloped edge and removing the fish and the door’s choice will have a big influence.

No shutters/flower boxes, but add a large planter (change content seasonally) and a nice lantern, drawing the eye to the entrance. Landscaping can have a huge impact and suggest removing or painting the front fence, which will create much nicer curb appeal and add value to your home.

IMO that goofy little gable over the front door is where I would start . There is only one window that could have shutters so IMO none. Since the roof is being done maybe look into a change for that entry maybe even just a nice metal and glass awing there or a reall nice striped canvas one . The porch needs arailing IMO that is an accident waiting to happen.Not many places for window boxes either so maybe just work on the landscping to give you color and big pots where the plants can be changed for the seasons . I might be tempted to paint the siding a nice pale blue ,leave the trim white nd a nice white railing on the porch some dark blue chairs . That fence has got to be power washed and IMO painted white . A pretty yellow front door and then decide what you want for landscaping . Is this area all you have for yard ? Hy darngeas are pretty but maybe a mix of stuff for all the yera landscaping . I do not know how grass works at the beach but it does require a lot of work to keep looking good. Is this a full time home or a holiday home ?I probably would have done a gray roof that allows for siding colors to change maybe down the road but ordered now so we work with it maybe the blue for the siding a bit more grayed .

What an adorable house. Natural tan as you have or light driftwood gray with a bright yellow door and yellow front porch furniture would look great.(On second look, Maureen's blue door idea is wonderful.) No need for window boxes and shutters. As others have said, get a white fence and work on the landscaping. Yes, hydrangeas would be nice, but they become sticks in winter. Here's a great beachy cottage garden of low maintenance grasses and perennials. Go to a local garden center and ask for recommendations of plants.

Down the road as budget allows, and if it wouldn't involve structural changes to your roof, you could do a deep white pergola over your front porch that extends over the front door. This would be a lovely place to sit in front.

I would not do window boxes. They are hard to keep looking nice. You can do containers on the porch, because they don't drip all over your siding and if they aren't working for you year-round, you can put them away in the winter.

Plant up that bare dirt with perennials.
