Unless you're extremely lucky not likely to find the bag second hand on the cheap. Sears wants $52 and a guy on Ebay wants $40. Sears/Roper/AYP had literally hundreds of variations. Plus the bag is a wear item, so there are more mowers than bags out in the universe. On the other hand, if you start calling around to mower shops, lightning might strike. Even a blind squirrel eventually finds a nut.

Ok will do. Now that I see it said... (lowering the deck) I noticed we started to have more bagging issues since I lowered the cutting deck. I found out I was leaving my bermuda too long and not cutting enough. So this season I have started to cut more frequently (once a week to 2x a week) and cut with the deck lower. This is when I really noticed our problems... I will wash the bag out. I did not know the dust would clog the bag like that. How often should I clean it out? After each use? I noticed the powder coat under the deck comes off a bit more each time I clean the deck. Could the bare metal surface be contributing to the grass sticking and clogging up more then when new? Should I clean it up and repaint it? Should the deck be washed out every time we mow? thank you again!

Yes, that method is widely used in greenhouses, hoophouses and outdoors. But how much does a bag of potting soil cost? You can do the same thing by filling those white woven plastic sand bags with a landscape mix bought in bulk at a nursery center for anywhere from 25 to 45 dollars a cubic yard. I use a mix of rotted bark and wood chip fines, rotted horse stall bedding, lime and a bit of native clay loam. A neighbor farmer makes the mix in huge stockpiles and sells it for 15 dollars per "scoop" (that fills my short bed F-150 about half full) or lets me fill 5-gallon buckets for 25c each. I fill burlap sacks for tomato growbags because the burlap rots away over the season and forms the base for a new raised bed. Then the next season I just pile a new row of bags atop last season's rotted away bags. Eventually the roots grow down into the native base soil and I have a no-till bed. The rotted burlap becomes part of the mix and I don't have to clean up pieces of plastic bag. If you're growing on a concrete slab or something, the plastic sand bags might be better.
