Bladder stones in dogs

My female dog's UTI was not improving with antibiotics so the vet did Xrays and she has several small stones and one larger one in her bladder formed by Struvites. Apparently a special diet helping urinary health such as Royal Canin Urinary S/O or HIlls help dissolve the stones. My vet has suggested going this route for a month and redo x-rays to see the improvement before considering surgery.

My dog is not a finicky eater and has no food allergies whatsoever so it was a real pleasure for me to cook for her and give her a very wide variety of food. Now overnight she is eating Royal Canin S/O kibbles and I also bought the RC S/O wet food and a bag of RC S/O treats.

I know she has to increase the quantity of water she is drinking to flush the dissolving stones and I wish she was drinking more. I have to check with my vet or a dog nutritionist to see if Beef Broth or Chicken broth with no salt added is allowed. This would really help.

Have any of you gone through this with your dog and if so, what was the outcome.

Thank you very much!
