i was doing a search about cleaning the tile and glass shower (tile walls, glass door) and I came across this topic. I am getting tired of having to clean/wipe down the shower more than once a day. I always squeegee then wipe down the walls whenever I take a shower. However when the shower gets used more than once a day (which is every day) I get tired of doing it multiple times a day. It takes me 10 full minutes to squeegee then wipe. (4x6 shower). Is it enough to wipe it down once a day, or do I really need to play maid to everyone in the house who showers any time of day?

I see a couple of brands of marble cleaners / seals at Home Depot. Are these reliable or are there special brands to consider? I use a shark mop to clean the marble floors regularly, but the seal has worn out and they are now porous/opaque and absorbing a lot more dirt. I read about the bona stuff, not sure that is specifially great for marble, seems to be very highly rated for wood floors. Not my case. Any advice?

I have marble tiles in my shower and there isn't a vent or fan. However there is a window and after a shower I quickly squeegee the walls and floor to remove excess water and then leave the door open. It only takes a minute to do because its a small shower. My tiles are light gray, matte finish with a lot of veining so the dirt doesn't show right away, but I try to look for it and scrub it with a brush as soon as I see dirt. Then I am careful to use only baking soda/hydrogen peroxide. If the grout needs a deeper cleaning, I steam it with a Bissel home steamer maybe 2x per year. So far, the tiles/grout look great and its been 2 years. I think the trick is to catch it early and don't let water sit. So its a little extra effort when getting out of the shower but it eliminates having to scrub a lot longer once a week and it always looks clean. And I will reseal every year. That makes it a lot easier to clean the grout too.

Thanks for the reply! I talked with our countertop guy and realized that it's really more dried grout that is on top (rather than haze) that I didn't wipe well enough. So he said that what they use on occasion is Bar Keeper's Friend (even though it has a bit of acid he said) to get some of the tough grout that dried, and lo and behold it did! There's no damage to the tile, and it was a one time thing, but I'm glad there was a solution because I was getting very worried! But thank you for your response!
