Question about water lily blossoms......
Hi again everyone. I had a water lily growing in a 100 gallon stock tank this summer. It wasn't a hardy one. It grew beautiful purple blossoms. I'm starting to empty it out a little early this Fall, because we have to move the stock tank to let the tree company fit through the area with their big machine. Anyhow........I've relocated the tadpoles into my inground stock tank pond and siphoned out a lot of the water....to just over the pot the lily is in. It's still making blossoms. I can't wait much longer to move the stock tank, but was wondering if I could cut off the buds and put them in water in the house? Would they bloom? I'm thinking no, but was hoping I was wrong.
What do you think? Oh....it's in a 7 gallon tub, so it's too heavy to move somewhere else to let it continue to grow, since it's getting into Fall.
