Cloudy Countertops

I have a MSI Q quartz counter top that's about a year old. We cover it with a silicone pad when we prep food, which is maybe a handful of times a month, and have a pad where we set things so as not to scratch the counter. We have a few tiny scratches, but what's worse is the cloudy area that developed within a few months and has only gotten worse the more it's cleaned. We only use a clean cloth and water for routine cleaning and have used, with the manufacturer's permission, Simple Green on a few occassions.

I have tried denatured alcohol but it doesn't remove the haze. This was also recommended by MSI. You can see the area where the pad was as it is shiny like new, and the area where we have wiped the counter with water.

MSI claims this is normal and it isn't an issue with their product. This small kitchen area was over $3K.

Has anyone else had this experience? Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to restore the shine?
