Suggestions on how to revive a dying rose society please

The St Louis Rose Society is just about defunct. Today we had our last meeting for the year, (which seems odd to me to quit meeting about roses in October, but I am not in charge, so there isn't much I can do about that.) and a grand total of 4 people showed up. The average number of people who usually show up is 9. There are something in the ball park of 50 email addresses that get the monthly communication, but for one reason or another most don't show up. I am, by far the youngest person, at least 25 years separates me and the next youngest, and I am 43.
The rose society has Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages/accounts/channel, but I haven't always gotten the word out much time before the meeting on those avenues. (Sometimes I don't get an email confirming that the meeting is happening until 2-3 days before the meeting.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the attention, and more importantly, the attendance of more people?
Thanks in advance,
Brandon
