Comments (11)eld - Yes! But I am so old (lol), my mother made this kind of birthday cake using a sweet Nancy Ann doll (personally, I loathe Barbie and am glad I was never subjected to her). My mother made a two-room spider web of string, one string for each girl, follow it over and under until you reached the "prize" -- a Nancy Ann doll for each guest. Then the cake was presented, followed by lots of fabric pieces and lace & other trims (remember rick-rack?), and we spent the rest of the afternoon sewing by hand clothes for the dolls.
