Nok-Out. odor eliminator..anyone used it??
Comments (20)Nok out seems to work. the thing about Nok Out from what I understand at least with pet urine in a carpet. It that Nok out needs to saturate the stain almost down to the padding. The following is the answer I received when I first bought the product. I have Kitchen carpeting over a moisture barrier pad and a little Shih Tzu pup: "Using Nok-Out in a steam cleaner should be a good idea. Heat doesn't should not change the odor removing action of Nok-Out. Somehow, the urine odors have not been touched by Nok-Out. The formula is designed to change/remove odor on contact. I suggest using the steam cleaner again. Ratio: 8 oz Nok-Out per gallon of water. Push cleaner forward to inject liquid into the carpet. Do NOT extract liquid back into the tank at this time. But allow Nok-Out to penetrate into the fibers, and down to the subflooring for at least 10 minutes. Then, begin the extraction process. Try this, and let me know how it goes Pat. I want it to work for you. I know that Nok-Out WILL eliminate odors. It is sometimes difficult to make this happen when finding the source of the problem is hard....See Morecat urine stain/odor on hardwood floor
Comments (7)Urine off is suppose to be a very good product. All the products like Urine off may have to be reapplied a few times if it is really bad. Very important to pour a lot of the product on so it will soak. Must air dry. Many people put plastic over it so the product doesn't evaporate. Should be soaking for as many hours as possible. These products don't work within a half hour. Nature's Miracle is also highly rated. Same principle as Urine off. If you have used Urine Off correctly and tried in a few times, try another product like Nature's Miracle. It is actually more important to get rid of the odor. Depending on a number of factors, you may or may not get rid of the stain. If the stain is only on your hardwood finish, sanding will remove it. If the stain goes down to the wood, it would have to be sanded and then try these products again. Last resort, use wood bleach or replace the boards....See MoreI need help on how to get cat urine odor out of concrete?
Comments (43)The reason Nature's Miracle says not to use any other method of cleaning is because they know you will use another method before buying it. Now they have an excuse as to why their product doesn't work. Nature's miracle is junk. My wife and I are current replacing flooring in our house. We adopted a 3 year old cat that was left behind after the owner moved. We found out why she was left behind. She pisses and poops everywhere. She had some kind of pancreatic issue and was on steroids her whole life. She died at the young age of 12. We loved her so we endured the daily treasures left behind. I would destroy another house full of flooring for that cat. It's a small price to pay for that unconditional love. Comments (10)Even better than Nature's Miracle is Kennel Odor Eliminator by Thornell http://www.amazon.com/Thornell-Kennel-Odor-Eliminator-Gallon/dp/B0002XI7DW My old house POs had cats, lots of them. And no litter box. It's more expensive, but it did in 4 treatments what Nature's Miracle (and others) could not. Now, the one problem you may have (and I did) is that the urine has infiltrated the HW and is into the subfloor. Try TOE first, but if it still smells....then your only option left is to remove the HWF and treat the subfloor. Mine was so bad I removed the entire subfloor because it had sunk into the joists below, but I think I'm a worst case scenario. Good luck. PS....the smell is due to the ammonia salts left behind, which are activated by moisture, hence the stronger smell when the humidity rises. My floor was so bad it changed color (got darker) when it was humid...hopefully yours is not!...See MoreRelated Professionals
