Where can I purchase a 'true' Annabelle online?
Comments (17)Ego45, Thank you so much! I have learned so much from you already! I think I have become an addict this year. We just built a new house and the possiblities are endless..... Now, I am a little worried because you said not to prune down too far, because I just hacked my gorgeous Glowing Embers (about 15 stems) at random for a party we had last weekend. I did not pay any attention to where I was cutting. I just sort of cut close to the bottom-looking for a long stem for our centerpiece! Just in the last month, I have bought 4 Glowing Embers, 3 Lanarth White and the 4 new Annabelle's that I have just ordered. All of these are still in pots. I plan to plant them this fall. The landscapers planted in the ground 4 endless summers. I am going to be patient with them, because so far-I am not that impressed. I love the darker leaves of the Glowing Embers and the Lanarth White. In our last house, I planted 3 Dooleys, which bloomed beautifully, and I never did a thing to them. I think that I'm so "in to" the hydrangeas now, that I am over tending or overthinking it all. But, I'm having a blast reading all the posts! Thank you again for your thoughtful replys!...See MoreThose that won't give up and the true lates blooming
Comments (6)Julia, the one that had super-short scapes this year that usually is tall was Margo Reed Indeed. Most were their usual height. This was not a great summer for daylilies here. I had quite a few that didn't bloom at all and there has been some bud drop lately, I'm assuming because it's been so dry. Sherry, Last Lama is a welcome lavender for the late season. Thyme, the clematis is 'Perle de' Azur' and it blooms all summer for me. It is beginning to fade away now but it always gives a good show....See MoreTrue bloom Roses
Comments (70)Sheila is right. I used Osmocote Plus 6 month feed on my inground roses for the first time last growing season, 2024, and nothing else, except my yearly winter application of poultry manure (pigeon), placed in late fall/early winter. The poultry manure gives a lavish spring bloom, but doesn't last the season. That's where the Osmocote comes in. I never had such vigorous, steady growth and abundant blooming, ever before, all season long. Watering was kept up regardless of high temps and rainfall shortages. The roses never suffered a water insufficiency. If my memory serves me, I applied the Osmocote right after spring pruning, about late April. I highly recommend Osmocote Plus 6 month feed, for the easiest, most effective fertilizer for roses that can be imagined. Osmocote is pricey, but worth every cent. If I didn't have the poultry manure (pigeon loft) available and used Osmocote as my only fertilizer applied at pruning time, the only difference I believe there would be is a smaller bloom and leaf size for the spring flush. This no saying smaller than normal, just that the manure makes for an enormous leaf and flower in spring, and normal size thereafter, the rest of the season. Hope what I have shared helps. Comments (11)That’s awesome they’re carrrying True Bloom roses. I heard True Blooms is again doing a limited release of a few new varieties— True Endearment must be one of these. I read an article recently on the new ones being released but I don’t recall the names and can’t find the article right now. I purchased True Perfume last spring from Home Depot but it ended up being True Sincerity. Hopefully these others will show up at Walmart my way this spring. I’m happy for your 2 for 1 LC!...See MoreRelated Professionals
