I love my $25 stick vacuum!
Comments (39)Joann23456, any floor cleaner with a spinning brush would end up with that problem. Update on my Eureka Stick Vacuum so far... I picked up mine this evening so I only played with it for a short time. However, enough to see how well/bad it worked. So, here's my review. I was disappointed that it was a bit harder to push it on the carpet than my Dyson. I guess, that's because it doesn't have wheels to assist it. As already mentioned from a review, it picked up dirt better when the vacuum was going backward than forward. On my tile floor, it did okay with the brush turned off. It didn't pick up as well as my Dyson. This was probably either, I'm used to the suction power of my Dyson or its suction wasn't as good as from the reviews I've read. Therefore, I had high expectation. Since I have Saltillos floor, I know that the spinning brush won't hurt this type of floor surface. So, I turned it on and it did a better job in picking up more than just dust. I'm glad. Otherwise, back to the store it would go. I too had the Sweeper Swifter and this stick vacuum works slightly better because it has suction. Plus, don't need to wait for battery to recharge. Overall: We get what we pay for. It sure worths just $25 and no more. I think my Dyson spoiled me and I shouldn't have had high expectation for this little "Quick up". I should have known: The higher the expectation, the harder we fall! This Stick Vacuum should only be treated as a hard floor cleaner or secondary carpet cleaner. Since it works with the spinning brush and I mainly be using it on tiled floor, it's a keep....See MoreHand-held vacuum recs
Comments (6)I have the Dyson V6 Motorhead and love it! The 5-7 minutes is only when you set the power on high. Otherwise, it's 20-22 minutes of power between full charges. 2/3 of my house is Saltillo floors. The rest is medium high carpet. I never had to use the high setting even on carpet. It cleans very well and recharges quite quickly. I like the fact that it's a stick which makes it easy to vacuum under low clearance areas. In other words, the dirt/dust bin is not a lower end as with the other brand models. I also have a Dyson upright but haven't had the need to use it since I got the V6. I did a lot of online research and read many reviews before settled for the V6. For someone in a wheelchair like me, the Dyson V6 is most convenient. No cord or vacuum hose to run over or wrap around the wheels. I can move in my wheelchair easily during vacuuming with the V6. I accidentally found out about this model while watching a Korean show. I didn't know that Dyson came out with this cordless model for a few years now. Wish I knew it sooner....See MoreStick vacuums?
Comments (11)I have a Shark corded stick vac-only for a few months but really like it for suction and getting under beds and other furniture. It sucks like nobody's business!! What I don't like is the weight of it. The motor is in the handle part & it's a little heavy. Not a big deal but I use it for 2 floors and by the end my arm is tired, especially doing stairs. Probably need to lift weights more often :( The other thing I dislike is the cord-it tangles & knots. I have a Shark steam mop and the cord does the same thing. It doesn't lay nice & flat but curls & gets snagged on furniture & baseboards. The trade off is a cordless that may not keep a reliable charge for me to complete vacuuming of 2 floors. I have a cordless broom that's great but is already slowing down by the time I get to the 2nd floor. I don't have time to let it re-charge, that's not how I roll, lol!...See MoreWhether or not to overpay for the Dyson handheld vacuum?
Comments (16)I LOVE my Dyson Animal cordless. In my experience, no other cordless compares in power. Its true that the battery doesn't last long but because it is so quick and easy to use, I vacuum more often therefor it's not as dirty therefor it's much faster to do a good job. I just saw the same model on sale for $399 CAN at Canadian Tire (I paid $599 for mine at Sears last year) so I"m going to go get a second one for upstairs. My house is very large (4000+ sq feet) with a mix of floor surfaces along with three small kids, a dog, and two messy guinea pigs. I can do an excellent job of vacuuming one floor of the house on a charge. Having one unit upstairs and one downstairs means I won't have to wait to charge or carry it around. Honestly, I haven't used my central vac or full size canister vac a single time since having the Dyson cordless stick. If you don't mind a cord, I also have a little brown Shark and it is fantastic. Cleans just as well as the Dyson or a full size vacuum for a fraction of the cost (under $200) but it has a cord. Like the Dyson, it also has a power head (beater brush) which to me is essential if you really want to get your money's worth....See MoreRelated Professionals
