tomplum, I looked at it more closely tonight, including opening the electrical box. Seeing where the wires go is somewhat reassuring, I think I can label them sufficiently, if they have to come off. For now, they're all still connected, from the stator to the Rear Bearing Carrier, and then into the electrical box. I had enough slack to simply move the Bearing Carrier to the side, for now. However, I would welcome any tips on how to remove the rotor. I removed the long bolt, it came off easily. I had read something on another forum (http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/r18965592-Portable-generator-disassembly-help-needed) where the person took his (different) genset to a shop. They threaded a longer bolt down through the rotor, into the crankshaft (so there was still "extra" bolt sticking out of the rotor). They then suspended it by the rotor, with the engine hanging down, and hit the bolt with a hammer, which succeeded in popping the engine off of the rotor. I tried something like that (the long bolts that hold the generator closed are the same thread, but a few inches longer), without success, so far. However, I can't hang it with the engine hanging below the rotor :) I still have the engine bolted down in the frame, but it's bolted onto the rubber mounts, so it could still briefly move away from the generator, if it wanted to. The generator is being supported from below by my car jack. I was leery of actually unbolting the engine, since the engine & generator could then slide out of the frame and fall on the floor. The stator is still installed. Any thoughts on how to loosen this would be quite welcome :) Thank you!

I went to a local nursery today and spoke with the manager, who was very helpful, they had a variety of citrus trees there which he told me had been there for quite some time, and should be safe for my gst cats to eat. So i purchased an Improved Meyer Lemon tree, it has lots of new growth on it, and I remember reading that GSTs like the leaves of this tree, i think. Anyway, the manager at the nursery told me that the only required insecticide or pesticide by the state of louisiana for citrus trees, is sprayed onto the leaves, and that it is not a systemic type, so that was good to know, Missherry had mentioned that was probably the case seeing as how a systemic could contaminate fruit of citrus. I have already ran out of new growth on my second navel tree, I thought it would last me until these cats pupate, but did not happen, so now I have some more host leaves for the remaining cats, I am just going to make sure I rinse the leaves thoroughly before I give to the cats, to make sure there is nothing left on them that could harm them. THe cat with the damaged mouthparts was able to eat a little today, he seems to be able to eat the stems better than the leaves, I cut little slits along the tender stems, and pinch them to where pieces are still attached but easier for him to pull off, I am hoping this will get him through, he has not given up, and seems to be fine, just hungry, poor guy. There are only two left from his group that have not purged and started hung sling, so I am hoping that he is getting enough nourishment in order to pupate, he doesn't pass hardly any frass, maybe once per day, but he hasn't lost as much weight as I would have figured since he is eating so little, so maybe his body is hanging on to all it can and that is why he isn't passing much frass or waste. He also doesn't move much at all unless he is trying to eat, so he isn't wasting his energy, I am hoping that he will make it, surely he cannot starve to death if he is getting some nourishment everyday. And maybe he will adjust better in order to eat more with each day. I have driven myself crazy trying to figure out what happened to him, because I cannot think of how in the world he ended up with part of his face missing. Unless maybe it was deformed to begin with and I did not notice, and just deteriorated with time, because up until a few days age, he was able to eat just like the rest, so it doesn't make sense. His cage is not real deep and I have papertowels at the bottom, so he could not have fallen and injured himself, there are no other cats in there with him, and he isn't one of my free spirit cats that try to escape frequently, I don't think I have ever found him on the tulle that encloses his little habitat, and had to move him back inside, he has been one of the easy ones that stay put, so I just don't know what in the world could have happened to him, and i wonder if he is in pain, because it looks like he is missing part of his face or mouth, could he have injured himself while eating?? and if so, how? I wish I could find info about this, but haven't been able to, just wondering if it could be a disease, or even a parasite that would cause this type of deformity. SInce i do not know what is wrong with him, I am keeping him a good distance from the others, just in case. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to make it easier for this guy to eat, please let me know, I will try anything. cutting slits into the sides of the stem seemed to help him out a bit. I watched him trying to eat the middle stem of the leaf earlier, and noticed he had eaten about an inch of it, but then he moved his had back and all of it came out of his mouth, so apparently he was able to get it into his mouth but was unable to sever it and could not swallow it. I have tried cutting slits into the sides of his leaves, not sure if that has helped out though, and i also tried cutting a leaf up into tiny pieces like the size they sever off when they eat, but apparently, he only knows to "tear" pieces off and either physically cannot, or hasn't figured out how to eat little pieces that are already torn off. Like I said, if anyone can think of something that might help, I will try it, so let me know!! And thanks

One of the cats did a "Garfield" on the side of the clump today, but didn't scare anything out(I assumed that was his strategy). He hung on for several seconds, then dropped and walked away. None of them are willing to stick their heads into the dead grass and I don't blame them. I don't want to poke around in there either. The house has been empty for a couple of years so I feel like we're the intruders. "The Clump" with resident fake goose...

Okiebaker, My chewed plants usually rebound and come back from the roots. The only problem with that is that sometimes by the time they come back and get large enough to bloom and set fruit, the heat has arrived and is impairing pollination. So, I think only you can decide if you want to leave it and let it rebound or not or just replace it with something else that is more of a sure thing. However, with lots of rain in the forecast this week, I think I'd leave it and give it a chance. With decent temperatures in May and nice rainfall to fuel its regrowth, it might rebound quickly. Since I'm down here in southern OK, I can't advise you on the availability of any given tomato variety in the OKC area, but hopefully someone who lives in the OKC-Norman area can do so if they've seen those plants around. I do know that in past years, I've seen a pretty good selection of heirlooms at the OKC Farmer's Market. If you're going to be in the Tulsa area for any reason, you might check out the plant selection from Duck Creek Farms (Gary sells at the Farmer's Market and his plant list is mostly on his website, but he may have additional varieties available that aren't on the list....Gary does respond to emails) or from The Tomato Man's Daughter. You can google and find their websites. Even if they don't have replacements of the exact varieties you want, both have an amazing variety of heirloom tomatoes. I have cats and they don't often nip tomato plants, but they like to behead pepper plants. Are your tomato plants caged? If so, you might want to wrap the lower foot or two of the cage with chicken wire to exclude them. I love cats but they have moments when they do behave poorly. For what it is worth if you raise your own plants from seed, it is always a good idea to have a couple of extra ones of each variety (OK, maybe not to the extreme like me) held in very large paper cups as 'back-ups'. I hold mine as long as possible so I have them in case 'something' happens. Many a time, the backups have saved me from going without a favorite variety or two. Good luck, Dawn
