Final Bathroom Decisions

last modified: 4 months ago

I'm in the process of updating one under-stairs toilet/shower and creating a new ensuite in a soon-to-be bedroom in our soon-to-be former garage. Eventually I'll be updating our current full bath, but that's for another day. I'd like to have some continuity in the house, stick to my tight budget, and have a neutral palette in the bathrooms that I can play with over time.

I plan to go for classic white tile in both baths and here are the questions I'm wrestling with:

  • How can I make sure the white tiles don't look cheap?
  • Are tiles something I should splurge on? (White tiles = $450ish for both rooms; fancy tiles = $1350)
  • Would a very light cream tile be a better/warmer alternative?
  • What options for the floor? I like the strong geometric options in the last inspo picture, but want to pick something that will last over time.

I forgot to update the toilet dimensions to imperial; it's 2' long and 1'2" wide
