I can't save your screen shot (?), so I did a quick estimation of the kitchen space, using as much of the existing layout as possible. I put the fridge near the dining nook, but that wall could be flipped, with the fridge next to the DR. That would keep the clean-up area completely separate from the prep/cooking areas, but the DW door would open partially against the end of the peninsula: Everything on the clean-up wall flipped: The black arrow is for corner storage that's accessed from the back of the cabinet. Or it could be accessed from the FR side, and since you have a table nearby, the peninsula could be extended over a run of cabinets, to increase storage and make up for the lost pantry and hanging cabs. I gave you a KW mixer. :) Back with one more--if the door to the formal DR could be moved to the hallway, the range wall could be extended, and a wide island with prep sink would work. Except for storage in the middle, drawers in the second run of cabinets in the island would have easy access from the ends. Optional upper cabs beside of range hood. (Contingent on the hood being vented as in the current kitchen.) If anyone else wants to borrow this plan to experiment, please feel free.

Our issue was a bit different but still a bit similar. We sold a prior home a couple of years ago. We had the ability to move out prior to listing (didn't want to have to deal with showing, especially in light of our high maintenance pets). What we did was pretty the place up before we moved - we then took a ton of pictures while it was still furnished. We then moved out and listed the house using the pictures. But the house was empty when people came to see it. I am sure that there are reasons NOT to do this, but honestly, it worked great for us. Perhaps you could use the old pictures to help show people how it looked all prettied up?

Would you consider instead creating a second small laundry area in the new master addition, if your goal is to have a laundry closer to the bedrooms? I have two laundries. One upstairs, front loader, adjacent to the master. One in the garage, top loader, for work clothes, rugs, camping clothes and bedding, bulky items, etc. You're running plumbing lines, anyway. to the bath addition. Maybe use part of the existing closet?

What about moving the pantry to where the plans showed a powder room? Put a window to the backyard where MamaGoose had the pantry, and make an entrance to powder room from both backyard and house. My orig post never showed up so I apologize if this is duplicated...
