Bought this model home that was actually built 2 years ago when farmhouse was the craze. I would like to eventually change the floors to light sand color or wood tone. So with that being considered we want to do an accent wall . My husband wants to do the entire wall, but i wanted a fireplace that spans all the way up with mantle and tv. Please help. Pictures show. The wall and showing you some inspiration picture. It will go up 20 feet to ceiling i like a casual elegance feel but dont have furniture yet except for the couches lamps and tables r going

Just to be clear, you are talking about the wall where the TV is currently located? And by accent wall you mean adding a texture or trim to the wall?

If you think that farmhouse style is already outdated, wait a few years until the accent wall craze is dated and then consider if you want or need it?

The room is not actually all that large. The picture of it close up makes it seem intimate and livable. Putting a 20-foot feature in the space feels really incongruent to me with the cozy vibe of the space.

I'd put a fireplace on the current TV wall, and then move the TV to the next wall over. If you want fireplace tile running all the way up, you can have it, and the TV will be at a much better angle for most viewers (and down a foot or so is better too).

I have a hanging vanity from Italy with 2 huge pull out drawers. They are very deep, and I keep everything inside. I have a ton of products, and they hold everything nicely with room to spare.

I think those are great ideas as that's what I was also thinking with what I'd change and do with the plans if we were building that plan. I'm not a fan of the only powder room entrance being in the mudroom, l prefer a more formal power room with the access to it in the common areas. So I like your idea of placing it in the butler's pantry area. Now if a plan is large enough to have two powder rooms such a private one also off the mudroom area I like that too. So the family can come in, wash up..... as they come in the door. Love the locker idea and am adding them in our new build as well. I really like what you have come up with. Good luck :)

How about pushing the island to the wall that will be removed and the up against the big wall. Still seating on 2 sides. Or, still move the island forward to d.r. wall, and then create an L, adding lower cabinets on the full wall side as well as the side facing the kitchen. I agree with your husband, don't get rid of island.

I would take out two of the middle framed art near the center of the hall and add a large mirror. At the very end I would do some sort of single panel wall paper mural. And then, depending on the style of the rest of your home an interesting stand on which will sit a single vibrant colored vase with something tall and sparse. Or, a floor to ceiling mirror while keeping the continuous wall of art.

You have tall windows and a loft, a lot going on in a relatively small space. I think a fire place to the ceiling would be nice but I’d make it the same color as the walls only textured in some way so it doesn’t bring too much more “noise” to the room.

I raised your drapery panel

Added a fireplace

Added a larger TV. It should NOT be tilted.

I added a larger fan that is mounted a bit lower.

Lots of different rugs will work with your floor.

For me accent walls need to have areason and connection to something in the space so not usually decided before all other things arw considered , I think the doorway at the end of that dividing wall keeps you from having much on that wall but Check out Ikea Besta for some really cool ideas for a wall with a TV This just one idea it will give you space for some storage the TV and maybe even a bit of display and allows for a bigger TV . DO you need a FP for heating? If not I rrely like a FP and TV in the same space

You don't necessarily need a feature wall or accent wall. You can easily just add an electric fireplace below and a TV above. Here are just a few images with visuals to aid you with what you might want to do with your fireplace/feature wall.

Thank you i love that rug white w gray you have shown where is that from? The floor is so busy in the home i bought and im really having. A hard time visualizing . I would like a fireplace possibly a gas one as i am hearing the electric don’t really help with heat. Im finding the home to be really chilly and would love the added warmth. So do you think the last fireplace you posted would be too much and should i just do the fireplace with tv on top or have shelving on each side.
