Yeah, taking a closer look, it looks like the seller didn't give you very much stems to work with. All I see there are the petioles, which connect the leaves to the stems. New growth will only emerge from the stems, and you weren't given much of that to even work with. So I would ask for a refund or replacement, if at all possible.Here's a closeup of my plant's stems. They're what the roots are emerging from, as well as the petioles. Looking closer at your photo, I don't see any stems whatsoever. To me, it looks as though the seller just snipped off a couple of short growth tips and stuck them in some pots. Have you unpotted them? Do they have any roots at all? If so, then they might pull thru. Just as long as the stems, what little of them there are, are still firm and viable. Under ideal conditions, these plants just might make it. But unless you got these for a very cheap price, then they weren't worth whatever price you paid for them. My first ever Monstera was a very healthy, well-rooted plant with multiple stems and at least a dozen or so leaves, and it only cost me around seven dollars. I've seen large, two-gallon sized pots of Monsteras for sale at Home Depot for just over twelve dollars. I just took a quick glance of the selection over on Amazon and none of them seemed reasonably priced. Even if these plants didn't suffer any cold damage, I wouldn't find these cuttings acceptable. Not for those prices. Places like Home Depot or Lowe's sell large Monsteras for only $12.98. Much more bang for your buck. Get your money back and shop elsewhere. If the seller doesn't work with you, then post a negative review, along with your photo. They ripped you off.

Since you have only had the plant a short time, what caused this is probably over now. It doesn't look like bugs. My guess is one of the following, maybe even both. It looks like cold damage. Did it go from the store out into cold air, and ride in a cold car. It's hard to believe this can cause such damage, but it can. If that is the case, it will grow new leaves eventually. It looks like a strong plant despite the leaf damage. It could also be that it got too thirsty in the past. The kind of leaf damage it has makes me think this is a response to watering mistakes made before you got the plant. I believe you would see some lower leaves yellowing too, if overwatering were the issue. Look closely to eliminate bugs. Don't get the soil soaking wet when you water. They don't want the kind of water a spider plant wants. They also like to dry a bit between waterings. I would let it go dry about half way down the pot, before I watered. Is it giving any new growth. That would make me think it'll be fine. Good luck.

Hey there, One of my philo gloriosum’s leaves have started to turn yellow in the middle and the end of the leaf. I have been watering it once a week and have kept it in partial shade and next to a humidifier. I am scared of the yellowing getting worse and not sure of what to do. Does anyone know what it could be? thank you!

I don’t like the way they look. Maybe nothing but the way the leaves are curling and the spots not being on the new leaf makes me think there’s a problem. I’m thinking spider mites or maybe cold damage. There are also Phalaenopsis mites which are similar to spider mites, they are known to attack older leaves and leave new growth alone. If it is cold damage, it could have happened before the new leaf started growing which is why it’s not affected. I would check with the owner a get some history. Maybe it was outdoors and it got too cold or maybe they have other plants with similar markings
