home exterior color change

Purchased a home in a small city known for its restorations of vintage homes. The neighborhood was built over the years, but still maintains its vintage charm. The landscape is a third of an acre of ponderosa pines and other “forest” vegetation. Want to change the color of this house. The home is light gray with the front porch a very dark gray.

It looks kind of mid-mod. Earthy colors were common then. You might try an olive or a brown. That said, blue is always great and should go with your stone.

All of the siding changes are worse, not better, but I do really like the Craftsman windows throughout with two caveats. First, the sidelite next to the door looks silly like that. Leave it or change to a Craftsman/prairie strained glass. Second, the windows above the garage need to change to casement/fixed units instead of sliders. Sliders don’t work with Craftsman.

Well we went dark blue and love it. The post you see is actually a downspout. Wrought iron posts actually hold up the porch roof, however, we are going to box them in and paint them white so they look like columns.

I need some help choosing a trim color to lighten up our home a bit. I am not a fan of the current brown trim. I would like to keep the color of the blue shutters and front door. We will also be replacing our roof. Any color recommendations or apps to help us see how different colors will look.

@acm the last two pictures (all terratone) was the color when we moved in. We didn't like the dark color so we had the wood siding painted parchment. We're at the point where the siding needs to be repainted again. Although I like the parchment much more than the terratone the front of the house looks all cut up. Especially the small popout next to the front door. I think I'd like it to blend in more. BTW, I'm a total failure with the visualizers. I gave up in frustration yesterday.

Thank you. Yes, as the town built out, the custom home market evolved. The cul-de-sac has the 70’s ranch style homes. Important to me to keep the color very scuttle and integrate into the landscape. I am definitely rethinking the cream trim. Seems out of place to me as I seek to have the home melt into the forest landscape
