Thermobalance I rough is for one emitter. Thermobalance II rough is for two emitters (e.g. handheld + fixed head). Thermobalance III is for three emitters (e.g. handheld + fixed head + tub spout). Each rough valve will have compatible trim kits. I went with Thermobalance II rough and Solaris trim kit for a shower-tub with two emitters. The rough valve comes in a version with "stops" and one without. Get the previous if it is hard to access the water turnoff. You only need the wall bar if you want to be able to adjust the height of the handheld when you have it fixed. In my case I have a growing kids and she would want it low, and guests who are grown and would want it high. So we went with wall bar.

No experience with the Croma, but I LOVE the 27447 Raindance 3 way that we have for our main showerhead. It is wonderful.... wouldn't change a thing about it. We also have a handshower that I thought I'd be using to rinse my hair etc, but to my surprise I use the main head almost exclusively. I have thick hair (my husband has none) and we both love it.

I got two Hansgrohe handshowers with wallbars. The wallbar itself is item #27617. Of course, you also need the actual handshower, a hose (metal or plastic) and a wall outlet. (You can also buy a wallbar set that comes with the plastic hose and a 4" handshower). I am not sure what you are referring to when you say that the slider bar is expensive. Do you mean just the bar or are you including the other items as well? I paid $106 for the 24" wall bar, $31 for the wall outlet, $50 for the 63" metal hose and $93 for the 6" three-jet handshower. As far as quality, I think the quality is fine. The only gripe I have is that the handshower adjusts up and down and from side to side but the angle of the handshower doesn't change. It is locked into a position that directs the water straight out rather than in a more downward direction. That is a bit frustrating--I would like to face the handshower directly down sometimes and can't do it.

I don’t find one line that I like all the parts AND can afford a matching set! Do these coordinate well enough to pull off?
