Maple cabinets, Baltic Brown granite, help with floor choice??
Comments (8)What color stain do they have on the cabinets? Light, medium, dark? Personally, I think oak floors with it's heavy graining will be too busy. The countertops have a very busy, contrasting pattern that will compete with anything you put on the floors or backsplash. I would suggest looking at maple or birch floors that have very little graining in a different stain. Or look for a middle toned like a beige with brown undertones (not pink undertones) large size porcelain or ceramic tiles. Or lastly look at cork floor tiles, not the floating type. Cork tends to be busy too, but there are patterns that don't have a lot of contrast. Here's laxsupermom's cork floors. Either color on it's own doesn't have much contrast. For backsplash, go with something quiet and classic. A single field tile rather than a pattern or contrasting colors or sheens. Subways in a running bond or herringbone pattern. Or a larger sized tile in a solid color like this....See Moreneed a very creamy yet bright white to go with golds and browns
Comments (7)nope, that's not it but thanks for looking. i do like so many of his colours and patterns! (even tho he tried to copywrite the word polo, what a wanker)!! anyway mine has a background of mostly tans with golds/browns and pink roses and green leaves. and i've looked for it for hours today and can't find it anywhere on line either! it's discontinued, and i guess it's all gone for real now. luckily i still love it, it's been several years since i found it and decided to make curtains for the room. they are finally all up and i'm fairly happy with them. the huge vintage desk rocks the space, as does the matching pair of green chenille recliners. next is the creamy bright white closet system, then the same colour white fireplace across the room in the corner, and finally a dark wood cabinet coffee wet bar next to the fireplace. and i will take pics--hell, i'll probably have them done professionally i'll be so happy!...See MoreCabinet Colour - Bright white or soft white
Comments (1)Based on the way you describe the other finishes in your kitchen, they sound warm, so I would go with the softer white because I think that would coordinate better with those choices (the bright white might be too stark/cool in comparison)....See MoreWhat color white for cabinets to match baltic brown granite?
Comments (37)I agree with grapefruit..except I don't find the existing flooring neccessarily jarring...but wood floors you have are beautiful...and it's always better to match as best as possible, if it's same material. Really, beatiful flooring. lack of contrast can be taken care of with rugs, floor cloths, you name it. And I don't think it would be a big deal, in your place Also if you decide to paint your island, after all-here, there's your contrast too like your new barstools btw...See MoreRelated Professionals
