What Hostas are still blooming?
I love to take photos of hosta flowers. When I learned they could be useful in identification I starting documenting mine in the hopes I could be helpful to someone else along the way. I also enjoy their colors and fragrances. Here’s what’s still happening in my yard.

this isn’t a good year for me for hosta pictures..lots of flaws..not a hosta but one of my prettiest blooms..

I used to hate fall, but these plants make me more fond of the season nowadays. Dahlias froze this weekend. I have more than 200 dahlias to dig up from 6 - 7 gardens around me. This is one garden chore that I rather hate, most especially cleaning the tubers and dividing the clumps for winter storage. Comments (5)I used to live between Sudbury & North Bay. Relatives tell me that snow has fallen early. We have our version of early winter also as in rain. It's amazing after such a dry summer. There are fall colours but some things are in reverse order appearing as winter arrives. It's still quite odd to me because nothing is in sync here with live and dormant flora mixed together through winter. You'll find white birch in colour here in Nov or Dec while some cool weather viburnum flowers as it gets wet. They can flop, not bloom as well as capable of doing, and suffer from fungal disease but I love them all right now. 5 months agoWe had a major downpour overnight, around 37mm in my yard, and when it finally stopped I took the time to quickly shoot some of what hostas are still in bloom.

4 months agoNice blooms everyone! Debra you have so many in bloom now, most of mine are done. Of course it did not help that it rained for a week when I was due to spray to keep the rotten deer away. They enjoyed the flower buds and left the leaves alone except for Invincible.

4 months agoI only have two blooming hosta in my backyard! One wasn't worth photographing, but I took the other one. Maybe I have some that are blooming in the front yard.
I was given this hosta as Geisha, but now it is said to be called Ani Machi.
The wind was blowing and I didn't like the photo I took so I tried again. I took the flowers off and put them on the leaves.

Believe it or not....from this afternoon...
