Here in michigan I am having a lot of leaf spot. I have been just removing the bad leaves. but with over 1000 plants its a real chore. Do not buy from burpee, gurney, or places like jung. they are just middle men. Buy from a very dependable grower like NOURSE FARM. Many years ago I bought 100 plants from gurney. They were to be everbearing but I got 3 different june bearing plant types. good luck JOHN

I'm planting some soon. I potted up about 50 runners and most rooted and i have since cut them free. If they don't make it, no loss to me. I'm looking to establish some in another area of my yard.

I'm new to strawberries... but thru out a raised bed with some plants this year. As instructed, I plucked the flowers this year to increase growth for next years crop. Now, runners came off the plants like crazy. They took up a lot of the bed. How should I manage them? Do these runners need to be cut off this year? I've read something about mowing down to 1" above the crown, should I do that this year or wait til later next year? Thanks!

I bought some of those new fangled Mara des Bois hybrids through Wicked Wilds in California and they have out performed any strawberry I've grown. I'm not a commercial grower, just a home gardener that sells starts and seedlings on the side. I ordered them and they arrived promptly in late spring and I was picking berries in a little over a month from planting. They sent large healthy plants and though they cost more I am still very pleased with the outcome.
