Storage Cabinets for Two STR Bathrooms
After shopping for the past four months for the STR we purchased next door, I am shopped out. In a few short weeks the remodel will begin. Both bathrooms will get 4/5ths of a gutting (new flooring throughout house, light fixtures, mirrors, plumbing fixtures, etc). I do not plan on replacing the linen cabinets in the bathrooms (moving to laundry room to use as pantries), but want something to hold towels and anything else guests want to store/access.
Yesterday I saw this in the restroom at our local Sweet Frog (I always get the Dole Whip.)
It was obviously painted. I took a photo of tag on the back. That yielded nothing in a search, but an image search came up with this on Chairish (also sold on eBay). $399, Ft Lauderdale, FL p/u only. Even if closer, I would not pay that much.
I like that it is rattan and no glass. Can be taller. Replacing cabinets that are 24" and 36" wide. 24" is still okay as a max, and other no more than 32". Would rather they be white or natural rattan, but light to medium.

Comments (14)In the meantime, take a look at Pottery Barn's bath cabinets. They're in the bath section under floor storage. The apothecary floor storage is 19" w x 16"D x 60" H. Also look at the sundry tower and Newport sundry cabinet. There's also stacking modular units where you can configure drawers, door cabinets, and open shelves with baskets to meet your needs. The sundry cabinets and modulars are 36" H, giving you a surface to set out a make-up bag, blow dryer, etc. while in use. Some have a pull-out shelf too. If you were to have a cabinet made, I'd model after the Stuart Storage cabinet and hutch. That's 20" w x 15" D. The glass uppers keep it light and airy. I'd at least do a glass front and a base with drawers. I'd want it to look like all one piece, not stacked cabinets. I would keep the lines simple and vintage with inset drawers. On these PB pieces, the feet are the only ornamentation. As for size, a folded towel is only about 12" x 15". You need room for TP. Most of everything else you store in a bathroom will fit in a small drawer. You'll need to carry in your cleaning supplies. Can you tell I considered doing a pedestal sink in our MB? I would have had room for two cabinets though. I don't see room for a hand towel. Comments (8)yes it is meant to recess between existing studs, is skinnier that a stud space so there is wiggle room. it sticks out @ 1”. Here is a pic of the Signature Hardware one we did. I hate to complain because it looked fine, fit the space well, easy and relatively cheap. This was for a last minute quick update of a bathroom before listing in 1 day, not committing to any serious work. It’s skinny (about a foot) and easy enough to cut a hole in drywall & pop it in. top pic is my phone pics B&A the 1-day makeover, 2nd pic was from the realtor pics. i doubt the paint on that cabinet was even dry. ETA yes we put the hinge on the left so the door did not hit the light. That part was fine, what I didn’t like was the body of the cabinet was a flimsy plastic shell. I found a three tiered, deep slanted shelf? table? yesterday for the hallway bathroom. Heavy and sturdy, $49. The vanity is dark blue and the MBath is white. Now I am thinking a non-glass shelf bamboo piece for it. Saw several at three antique stores, but any that would work were marked NFS. I have a knack for liking things not for sale. LOL Anyway, this cleaned up nicely with a Magic Eraser. Housekeeping can put towels below. I'll probably put a large tray on top. Our lower level den has become a storage room.
Here are the bamboo chairs (blue and pink pillows not included). I saw them, didn't buy since we had not closed yet. Mentioned them to DH, and he asked why not?! So I called to purchase.
Cushions are now covered in this fabric. Sitting is more comfortable with an additional pillow, so I added 14x22 lumbar pillows.
