Calling room arrangement gurus! Here's a challenge! (with pics)
Comments (13)I love your glass-door cabinet and think it deserves a spot that doesnâÂÂt compete with the fireplace, such as in your âÂÂemptyâ corner (facing fireplace). Any chance that the coffee table or open console could be moved to the corner and re-purposed to hold DVD player, etc.? It could then act as an end table for whatever seating is nearby. As suggested by others, I would try reversing the sofa and loveseat to improve the traffic flow through the room. Since the sofa is higher than the windowsill, I would pull it away from the window and place a high console table behind. Hopefully there is enough room along staircase wall to relocate the recliner. The room is lovely, but to me sees a little heavy on wood. I would consider switching the wooden side table for one with a glass top, and perhaps a substantial glass coffee table that could still function as an ottoman....See MoreCalling all curtain gurus . . . Comments (13)I believe you said in the other thread that you were going for a sort of Carribbean feel. I think the blinds do much to help that. I don't see adding white curtains as bringing anything new to enhance the space, particularly since your space around the bed and windows is rather close. What strikes me about the space (besides how pretty it is!) is that the windows seem low in the room. I would rather see valances hung above the windows, starting just a couple of inches below the ceiling, to bring height and make the windows seem more substantial vertically. Are there valances available that match your bedding? You could do grommet valances instead, tho I am not crazy about that look with the feeling you have created in the room. Or, you could add a deep decorative moulding crown above each window, painted the trim color, or build out wooden cornices and paint them the trim color (my first choice, I think)...See MoreCalling all decorating Gurus can I get opinions on mirrors please
Comments (29)Pretend you are arranging pictures. Move the ottoman out and lay the mirrors on the floor in front of the sofa. How do they look: 1.with all 4 touching 2.with all 4, but with 1 or1/2" between them 3.with Only 3 If you find an arrangement you like put them up. Live with them in white and re-do the color later if you want. Addressing the reflection issue, it is preferable to reflect something lovely. If the mirrored buffet/hutch doesn't work for you, could it be moved ... Oh I can hear DH groaning from here:>)...to a side wall( fit??), and replaced with a long table or chest/console. Then you could have a big, bright painting over that, with lamp and greenery, perhaps, to be reflected in your new "windows". I'm thinking, however, that that's asking a lot and expect your sofa wall is far enough away from the D.R. hutch that it will be fine. One last thought...do not keep them if you are going to end up beating yourself up over your mistake. been there, done that, no fun!...See MoreHome office design/decor help needed!
Comments (5)What if you turned the desk so the person sitting is facing out rather than looking into the mirror. Look into getting a square rug for the space. what about some floating shelves for storage on the bike wall? What is around that corner? I found two cool options for the mirror wall one would use command strips to mount artwork: https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/plagued-with-dated-mirrored-walls-5-design-ideas-to-make-them-work-241744 or put a film or decal on them: https://www.spancraft.com/antique-mirror-collection.html...See MoreRelated Professionals
