(SEE LINK) i'm struggling with what color curtains to buy as well. here's the bedding. the room walls will be painted at a later date. i'm trying to find more neutral curtains. call me silly but the widths listed, is that per panel? i would need 2 of the 48" ones?? should i go with 84 length or 95...which looks nicer? think they look too flimsy? thanks guys for all your help! Ange, we had a similar situation with 12" molding that extends along the ceiling plane about 8" in towards the center of the room. We ended up finding a thin rod from Renovation hardware, but it was only 12 feet long. Your 18' length will def be a custom item. If it is fabricated in sections make sure you can put a support at the join. Initially, we ordered a custom wrought iron rod from a blacksmith in California (we are in GA) and the join fell right where there was a wood keystone for the arched top of the center window. There was no place to attach the support bracket and we were relieved that that rod would go in DS's room, which we were also redoing. Felt lucky to find the RH rod that was reasonable after spending so much on the custom item that could not be installed. I'm afraid that experience convinced me that I should stick with the designer for window treatments. Of course, I can't sew and don't have the talent to devise my own treatments....you probably would have spotted the problem and not ordered the rod I chose in the first place! Those chairs are knockouts, and I look forward to seeing the curtain material.

I am in the same situation (if DH lets me buy curtains for the dining room and living room). We have very large windows, with blinds, and I do not wish to get anything with full coverage. I was going to go with the one panel for each side, which is just 41" wide, but lined for fullness. Now I am second guessing that decision. lol parma42 - I thought I was the only one that takes photos of hotel rooms. My photo is of the Hotel Canada on Via Vicenza in Rome. They do love their draperies over there. My room had three layers over the window. Although the room was beautiful and spacious, the crooked headboard bothered me. lol

Sorry everyone! I might be using the wrong terminology here. i thought this was considered puddling (see picture.) I also read if you had low ceilings its better to have the rod as close to the ceiling as possible and to have the rod extend 12 inches on each side from the window! I’ve attached some pictures of my room under the picture of how long I was thinking the drapes should be. Please ignore the god awful furniture and flooring. That’s all being changed. I also just assumed to do sheers and blackouts because during the day I figured there would be too much light if I just opened the blackouts and had no sheer covering at all.. and I thought if I just had light filtering curtains and had my bedroom lights on at night that neighbors would be able to see in. I’m COMPLETELY open to suggestions though and it would be cheaper to just do one curtain instead of layering them so thats even better 😂 Sorry guys I’m so new to all of this its my first time designing a home.. I’m 25 and finally moved out lol!
