Comments (27)Yes Ann you did get it right! Sometimes we just have to edit and it can look and feel good. lindalanafirst let me say what a beautiful array of specimens you have, gorgeous and impressive. I think I planted my first in the 80's and continued on from there. I have added new ones over time so some areas look odd with a mix of mature and new. Thank you Paula. Your plants are looking sooo happy. I hope you get some rain but not too much. The feast or famine thing can get old. I stopped watering years ago. I am on a well and we have had three years of drought in a row. In the previous years it would be feast or famine. Lisa thank you. You have been busy! Some things like paths seem to be on going maintenance for me at least. Your Spruce is really doing well. Poison hemlock is beyond wicked to deal with, so sorry this beast is multiplying. Summer Breeze is a beauty, I am trying to find space for one....See MoreWhat are you doing Monday 7824
Comments (22)I have mealie bugs on a few plants. I grow coleus as they are mealie bug magnets for faster detection. I went to Lowe's to buy a hand spray style over a hose spray poison. Oddly most everything hand spray was organic. I have no problem with organic except when I want a killing machine. I did find Seven, but it was not really what I wanted. My son stated that the pot growers are changing the market. Get photos! Congratulations on the anniversaries and Debra, I hope you are feeling better. Nothing worse than not feeling well. Ann your dish garden was a very nice gift. Does it have a drain hole? If not, you will have to get drainage. 3 of them are very tender. The 2 strings and the toe. Eventually the purple flower will grow off, but it may take a while. Do not pull it. I do not know why they do that. The rest should be pretty hardy. Well-draining soil do not overwater or over sun. Feed once in a while just not too much. In about 1-2 years that pink guy will pop off. It is the make of the plant but the epiphyllum underneath is probably a Queen of the Night. The saucer I never use them. I have flat tile for plant coasters. They will freeze. Get photos! I was just outside (Friday) and my hostas are starting to show summer heat damage. Serendipity is normally my first to go down and it has started to show sadder leaves. Big Daddy he does not like the heat either. And it is not even August yet. And he has prime real estate. Get photos! I am still repotting but I wait to do the hostas until they are dormant. I went out and bought some cheaper purslanes and I am believing that the ones I bought last year are designer divas and sterile. old dirt I have read where you can eat these, but they just do not look tempting. Get photos! It is Friday forge day! I have become addicted to 'Forged in Fire'. I do not miss my job, but I do miss having 3 different machine shops to work in. Stay cool everyone. Get photos! I have placed a subliminal message in my post. I hope you see it. Get photos!...See MoreWhat are you doing Monday 71524
Comments (15)Debra, I have no idea how to connect otherwise so please reach me at gmail. It will be oerickson. I say you still have too much grass 😆 Seriously love how you detailing your beds. Old_dirt, hubby bought me inexpensive watch that calculates my steps, I walk 5-6 miles daily in my garden/ house alone ...sheesh. I hear you on taking a break. Gary, you were right, water has subsided significantly. Still there but at least garden beds are clearing. Sandy, I am looking for salvias too, gotta find Lowes to see any sales. Otherwise I will need to get some seeds and grow a batch. My spring look needs an improvement. Are daylilies worth growing? How long that bloom lasts? Nicholworth, I forgot about Lycoris, I think I am behind by at least 2 weeks from you....See MoreWhat are you doing Monday 111824
Comments (13)Paula, I hope you will be able to keep in touch with the people you want to from your old job and that they all land on their feet. ......Nice flower! Is it wrong that I covet lindalana’s new dog and nicholsworth/Ann’s wood chipper? I would love to have a place for both. 😊 Old_dirt, Lucky you to be able to catch your own fish. It’s so good when it’s fresh caught. And that it benefits your garden is even better. I was able to get my fall bulbs planted, but beyond that I got zero cleanup done. I don’t know how time goes by so fast. We got six inches of snow the other day with only half melted off so far. So it’s icy, cold, and wet out there. I had such high hopes to get more done. I also have a blanket of leaves covering the beds and lawn. But some years are surprising, so I may get out there yet. Is anyone else seeing how many people have been thrown off by (our American) Thanksgiving being later this year? I have a friend whose kids made reservations to be at her house this Thursday instead of next week, lol. Two families that didn’t check before making airline reservations. And another one whose hubby took the turkey out to thaw a week early. I guess it made me laugh because I was about to do the same thing until my DH pointed it out to me!...See MoreRelated Professionals
