About the crib bumper legislation (which was introduced last year and signed into law this past May) -- it prohibits the manufacture, sale, and distribution of padded crib bumper pads (and inclined sleepers). However, I don't believe that even the "distribution" provision applies to homemade, home-sewn crib bumpers, which is the case above. So parents and parents-to-be need to educate themselves, and if Grandma wants to sew something, suggest something else. Bumpers aside, I very much appreciated her not overly decorated son's room and the use of furniture from elsewhere in the house on a temporary basis, until her son is older. I can't stand the recent social media trend of hyper-decorated "nurseries" which have the lifespan of a fruitfly, and then the blogger/influencer redoes the room when the kid becomes a toddler, again as a preschooler, again a few years later, etc.

I liked it a lot. I'm in the camp of liking the way she divided the living room. Long living rooms with a centered fireplace show up often on the Home Decorating side as a design problem, and I thought her two functional areas made great use of the space. I always appreciate when designers on these tours point out the things they love that aren't particularly special from a design standpoint, but are favorites anyway, like the happy statue in the corner of the dining room (which I gathered was a mass market, or at least an inexpensive, piece). Sometimes it is a piece that is sentimental in some way, but sometimes it's just, "It makes me happy," like the happy man statue.

Overall, I like it. At least the wall art wouldn't convey. (Though I like the one at 8:30). Or the tiger upholstery. I like what she did to the stairway a lot. The bar is very cool. Her "butler" is fun! Master bedroom is inviting.

awww, really enjoyed that. Full disclosure, she had me at 13 dogs! She has really surrounded herself with the things she loves, which I don't see enough. I don't love a lot of furnishings in my own spaces, but in a home like that, I'm very comfortable visiting. I love being in a place where everything has a story behind it.
