hi - hoping to get all your expertise here. I want to put a neptune wind whirlpool only tub in the far corner of my bathroom. My contractor can accommodate the 3 to 6 inch overjet of the motor in the wall and I will need to have the access panel in the garage which is the other side of the bathroom wall. My question for the group is - how big will this wall access have to be? Right now he is saying it is too tight as he has to put the furnace in the garage right up against the bathroom wall - but I am thinking that there has to be a way? How big is the motor and how much would I need to have a) in overall opening dimensions and b) workable depth/clearance on the garage side to be able to change it out. Trying not to give up on my dream :) Would appreciate any help you can give me.

In my vacation home I covered the small one with art on a board on a hinge. In my home that has a huge electrical box in the finished basement, I just hung large art that that has to be taken off the wall if you needed to get into the box. I don't find I have to touch any switches to often.

To everyone who commented: Thank you!! Lots of ideas and things to consider here. Rearranging the furniture is something I haven't given much thought to. I did what I did because I like my sofa to be close to the tv (well, I'm nearsighted), and coming from a studio apartment, that's how it was previously - everything close together. So it's hard to change. Yes, I should eventually get a new tv stand. The tv is actually safe on the stand, as the tv legs are less wide than the stand itself and the stand is pure wood, so its construction is quite good. It's a relic of the tube tv days, but it worked for the new tv when I bought it a couple of years ago, so I didn't bother changing it. As to the stuff I have all around (especially in the corner) - those are things I want on display. They are model buses from England, many in their own display case. Eventually, I want to get a curio cabinet as I have a much larger collection not yet on display. As for the curtains, I chose that color because it matched the color of the wood floor and the wood furniture. But I may have to re-evaluate that also. I agree about having the curtain rod pulled out on top. However, if you look at the photo of the left side of the window, there's no space to install a curtain rod just to the left top of the window, as the original window frame and the corner of the wall are extremely close. If there's a solution to that, please post!! And thanks for the guide to hanging pictures...I will definitely be taking this info into consideration...I also have my bedroom to work on!! I looked at your redwood siding post -- nice house. Have you searched for inspiration photos of a similar kitchen? I'd be tempted to do option A. A simple box reaching to the ceiling. My only thought is the differing woods. Maybe splitting the hood/duct cover at the top of the cabinets and using 2 materials, matching the cabinets to cabinet height, then something else on up to the ceiling. I would also consider the duct cover/ceiling interface, making sure it looks planned and not clumsy.
