They don't look too bad. Can you add a tall piece of artwork over the mantle though? It might help add height to the fireplace area since the consoles have windows above them.

I don't think it's their size but their color that makes them stand out to me. Perhaps a different rug and artwork over the fireplace would help them find a home?

Right now they are a stand alone thing do the whole space then post pics of that and maybe we can help IMO you could have gone bigger but they need other decor to judge .Now I would add some more to the FP like anew surround wider for sure .

The firepace surround is rather traditional and maybe clashes a bit with the more modern design. Also, it could be that the fireplace surround is too small and skimpy in comparison to the sideboards.

They look okay, though they might be a little bit big compared to the fireplace surround. Otherwise maybe try a nice mirror, or piece of artwork, over the mantle.

It’s the wall behind it that is the problem , it looks like unfinished block construction . The furniture is beautiful ..you need a taller art piece and drapes over the windows …to soften the look .

No, they just don’t work. It appears you have sleek 12 x 24 tile on the walls, a muted pattern rug that on my screen does not work with flooring or the new side pieces. Follow advice of a beefier fireplace surround and mantel to offset the chunky additional pieces. If you are going for MCM look a geometric pattern rug would help.

The mantel and fireplace surround is too small for the size of the fireplace. If you correct that, then add artwork above the fireplace and style the mantel, it will look ok. The cabinets are lovely.

You need to balance the fireplace with the sideboards. Here's with a large painting and curtains on the windows. I also think you can consider replacing the fireplace surround with a larger more modern style.
