Hi Kristin, I made those albums public, let me know if you still can't access them. We actually sold that house about 2 years ago- someone knocked on our door and wanted to buy, so we just built again! We loved fox hall, it was an awesome plan for our family.

thanks for the feedback @cummingsab85 I also feel like something is a little off with the second floor layout. The en suite bath especially seems odd to walk right into the toilet. We are building on a 2 acre lot but do have neighbors on the side- so our view of the woods (my favorite part of the land!) are out the back. In this plan, I love the big screened porch, the laundry room layout, the kitchen layout with big island, the relatively modest space allocated to the master bath, and the fact that the kitchen/breakfast/living room are "open" without being one large room. My DH and I are early 30s and have 2 small boys with the hope of another (likely final) child in the next year or two. We are planning to build a house with plenty of room for our family to live for 25+ years. Our HOA requires 3500sqft and we really don't prefer a two story landing/overlook which limits a lot of our options!

I've purchased and built a Southern Living Home Plan. There was no materials list. It wouldn't be useful because everyone will select different finishes. The plan that I built was a William Poole plan. My builder had no problem using the plan. He created his own list based on my requirements and selections. We decided to add an additional four feet to the back of the house, moved the windows around and I completely changed the kitchen. We did this without any new drawings. I'm 250 miles from the Atlantic and I had to stress my garage door to withstand hurricane forces. It is a perfectly ridiculous requirement of my local building department, but you have to do it if you want a CO. You are going to want to check with the local building department about the roof design. I would print out the pages on SL of the plan you are considering. Give them to your builder and get his take on it before you spend money on a roof design that won't work for you. He can run it past the local building department. They will advise you as to whether it feasible as currently presented. SL has contracted with an architectural firm that will make modifications for a fee. If the roof needs to be changed, they can do it for you on their PDF files. One thing that I did learn was to only order and pay for one set of plans. You can have multiple copies reproduced for much less than what you would pay at SL.

Agree with the recommendations to consult an architect….. A). Love the house plan, but really dislike the “weird/small” kitchen, especially in renderings in which the cooktop is sitting in the middle of the kitchen with a metal exhaust pipe going through the ceiling. For me, it completely ruins the entire look of the house…. B). I also agree with the Vaulted Ceiling Comments. I once built a house by a well-known designer/architect that had a completely open 2nd Floor (in several locations)— It was a gorgeous house, but was a monster to heat and cool and I would never do that again. Nine-ten foot ceilings are fine for me…. C). Final Considerations—- Depending on the version, Tideland Haven has a relatively sizable footprint, but has very few “rooms.” For me— I’d expect a large food pantry, butlers pantry/china closet, food prep area and/or Grandkid’s FROG/Bunk-Room for 2400-2800 square feet of heated space…. D). Although it is technically “wasted” space, I do actually like the entry “Wow Factor” and could think of several ways to utilize that space….. E). Would love to see the creative solutions that others have found with this plan since it has so much potential. ❤️
