It seems all depends on your micro climate, soil and fertilizer. "Carefree Delight" at Littleton Memorial garden is about 6' x 6' but 3'x3' at the Longmont Roosevelt rose garden. My 4 year old Bonica is about 4'x4' but I saw an old specimen as big as 7'x7'at a near-by nursery against the well protected south facing wall. Morden Blush at Boulder tea house was tiny this spring (less than 1', I am not sure how old it was). William Buffin, for example, at Denver Botanic Garden and Boulder Tea House are monsters but remain compact 5' at Longmont rose garden. My personal opinion is that they will grow to be the maximum size in Colorado when they are left non trimmed in sunny protected locations. I strongly recommend that you visit those four gardens mentioned and see them in action. They are all amazing.

Thank you everyone. I have really been working on improving my soil the past three years and that has made a big difference, I believe. Good soil - good plants. Good rainfall, this year too. Belinda's Dream looks like a big, fat pink Snowflake. And she smells divine. Has a good strong fragrance. She likes full sun, no ifs, ands or buts about it. That 5-inch bloom is on a plant that is only two feet tall. I rooted it last spring. I just stuck a broken off branch in the ground, and no kidding, she rooted in about three weeks and began blooming within a month. Poor little plant was bent over double with those big blooms. She bloomed all summer last year. This year, her blooms are even bigger. I totally love Belinda's Dream. In front of her is a rose cutting I got from plantmaven. I think it is Rosa, Heritage, although I can't be certain. She is only 18 inches tall and has bloomed twice already this year. She bloomed last year too, but much smaller blooms on an 8 inch plant. She has a strong, lovely old rose fragrance and sweet baby pink color. I just cannot get enough roses! It is my new freak! If I keep on like this, I will have to change my home name from Iowa Hills Herb Farm to Rose Hill Cottage! Thanks again everyone. Thanks Everyone: I certainly must reiterate the fact that we had a great day! Thank you all for making my mother feel so welcome also...she had a wonderful time! (Thanks Carol for the take home gift of your Lemon Poppy seed Loaf) it was very kind of you and mom will snack on it for the weekend. I did get out in the garden for a couple of hours after getting home and mostly competed the planting of the new arrivals. Once again I am thrilled to have these new plants to add to my gardens and the fact that they came from friends gardens makes them that much more special.
