Not sure about what exactly you are asking but if you post a to scale floor plan of your space on graph paper showing all windows , dooraways where those lead and every measurement clearly marked posted her ein jpeg format in a comment you will get lots of help. DO NOT start another post . Include your needs for the space too

No, you have to extrapolate from a known size. If you draw your room to scale you can cut out scale sized furniture pieces and move them around. A 12 x 16 foot room could be drawn to scale with 1ft= 1/2 inch. So the drawing would be 6” x 8”. An 8 ft sofa would be 4”, etc. it’s like paper dolls but for furniture.

No Patricia if you read it again, you’ll see that she used countertops and toilets as an example of items to use as references to determine size. She’s not putting a toilet on the screen porch. Back to what the OP asked….no, unfortunately Houzz thinks it’s important to tell us about rooms using square footage and not actual room dimensions. Length and width dimensions are much more useful to most of us in the real world.

Post a question under the photo you like ... sometimes you'll get lucky and the builder, designer or architect will answer with the information you requested. You can also email their business directly, which has also worked for me in the past.

As Susan L. said, take it one step further and use cutouts to get an idea of what will fit in the space. You will also need an idea of clearances between furniture pieces to make a good decision.

A 12 x 16 porch would have a door. It could be on a 12 foot wall, it could be on a 16 foot wall. There could be two doors, on two 12' walls!

You draw YOUR porch - the walls, the windows, where everything is and you note the feet. and inches for everything.

You upload the drawing of that, bold and legible and back at you will come arrangements of furnishings................AFTER you inform all as to how you'd like to use that porch.

You want to eat out there? You might even want a tv? How many would you like to seat? What's the climate? Is it screened only, is it all windows? See what I mean? No visionaries live here, ( some don't even fully read the question, but many DO!

12x16 is a moderately sized living room or a large dining room. Generally it's not both unless you get a tiny dining table and a couple lounge chairs. So use that as your guide. A 12x16 living room would have a couch and a couple chairs with a coffee table, or two facing couches and coffee table. Maybe a chair as well. A 12x16 dining room would handle an 8' dining table with comfortable room to walk around.

In my experience most people build decks/porches too small for their ideas, so make sure you understand what will fit in the space so you're not disappointed later (just happened to a neighbor - they built a deck but wanted to save money so they made it too small - the very expensive outdoor couch they bought had to be returned as it didn't fit with the smoker and dining table on there as well).

You have an existing 12 x 16 porch? Or you don't?

Explain what you are trying to accomplish in your own space, which is defined BY traffic patterns, openings, entrance, exit etc.

That means a drawing of your porch. Not a mythical porch.

Depending on whether you are building the porch or if it's already there, identifying what you want to do will dictate how large it should be, or whether you can't have everything you want.

Case in point, we built a small screened in porch in our backyard looking out over the pool. There is limited room in the backyard, and with the setback requirements, we could only build a 10'x12' porch. My hubs kept saying he also wanted to have a table so we could eat there. I said we can have a sitting room or a dining area, it's not big enough for both. After much going back and forth, it's a sitting room with a sofa, two chairs and a couple of occasional tables. After a year or two, the kids got him a large TV, so now we can watch TV in there too on cool nights.
