I made a start, I'll take pics tomorrow...I had my husband chainsaw through those prickly things..3 of them are GONE!! YAHOO!! Next weekend I'll shoot for taking the three by the garage out and probably putting in either otto luyken laurel or densiforma yew if I can make sure there's enough drainage....luckly I don't have the thick red clay...this house was built on pasture that is nice light brown and very good soil...I'll add in some organic material... I replaced those thorny things with Sweet Box...it'll fill in the space and in spring have a wonderfully fragrant smell right by the front steps...in front of those I planted a few dark liriope...placed a fall display of Cinderella pumpkins and on the side where the other thorny thing was I planted a striped maiden grass that won't grow too large but will add enough contrast so as not to over whelm the corner of the foundation. Years down the road I plan to take out half the hollies and completely rescape everything..but for now-trimming what I have and sprucing it up a bit did wonders....I'm going to be adding the bulbs in a bed alongside the back of my house where there is much more sun... I also had been giving dream bones mini chews to my dogs. About 4 months ago my 7lb Chiweenie started throwing up blood and bloody stool 30 minutes after giving him the treat. I immediately took him to the vet where he had to spend the night. $400 later he got to come home. I didn't realize it was the treat as the vet said sometimes dogs get a intestinal virus. 3 days ago my short legged jack russell started the same thing. I took him to the vet the next morning when I found all the blood. 3 days later he got to come home. $1100 this time. I threw away all the dream bones treats that I had and will never buy these again. My dogs loved them and ate them for a couple years but my vet said that it was the treat that caused this. He got severely dehydrated and his kidneys were in bad shape. His white blood cell count was off. He was in really bad shape within a few hours. I am going to email the company and send them copies of my vet bills. We trust people to make stuff for our babies and then they poison them. I will never buy this product again and I will do everything I can to make sure no one else does either.

I read about 2 or 3 books a week depending on the length of them. The only two I read on your list were The Girl on the Train and Orphan Train. I don't keep a list. I do want to read All the Light We Cannot See but don't want to pay that much for it on my Kindle. Our Library is 12 miles away and my eyes have trouble reading a regular book so the Kindle is perfect for me. Rosamunde Pilcher is my favorite author and some of her books were on special for the Kindle last week. I may break down and buy All the Light anyway. lol

I have my roses six feet apart but when I see so many roses look beautiful that intertwined with one another looks even more beautiful and compliments. I have Maggie and B.R.Cant. I left those 2 alone. Within 8 ft apart. But the rest, I start to put 1 or 2 within 6 feet and then realized what if...time will tell. Yes, temptations to buy more is bad. Limited space is another issue I have. And I know I messed up just matter of time. Unless, I redesign my backyard my chances are slim with limited funds. I rather do interior first maybe in time but I doubt it. Thinking of doing pots which I know nothing about is another research I need to do . Jin
