Mold on the drywall during construction

Our house is still under construction.after the drywall and painting are completed,we noticed mold is coming on the walls. There is no water connection yet. So what must be the reason? How can we solve this? Is there any construction issue?

Its is difficult to diagnose the problem with just a couple of photos. A deeper inspection should be performed to determine why there is mold.

Mold means that there is moisture where there shouldn't be. I would be very suspicious of a leak somewhere. I would bring this up to your builder if he is not already aware.

I know this thread is old, but we have been struggling to get a house build since early this year. We have wrapped walls and a roof with a something that goes under the shingles but no shingles yet. It's in Arkansas and we've had rain for the better of the past two weeks and my main concern is our second story where there are holes in the roof for future ventilation. One of the bedrooms has a spot that has either been wet or has a bit of standing water for the past two weeks. Since the upstairs is all wood sub floor I rather concerned. Both the photos are before the storms we had last night that dumped another 2 inches of rain. I've experienced water issues in 2 houses, and when I see a water stained door, I'm thinking that's a bad sign.

Like many said above common surface mildew/mold seen on almost all framing material causes staining. If you want a house without it you will need to use KD (kiln dried) framing lumber which will add a cost and is not common practice and will crack more with typical fasteners. If you want to be overly cautious have the builder run a dehumidifier once the structure is drywalled to reduce the moisture content of your home usually only necessary in humid environments.

Thanks for the feedback. It's going to be a lot of scraping. It's even growing a little on the floor. What type of detergent do you use? I've read people suggest white vinegar or bleach. Don't really want to be in an enclosed space with bleach...even with a respirator. We still don't have utilites to the property yet, so while the generator is running during the day I have a fan in the access door. Originally I had a weak box fan, but today upgraded to a fan that claims to move just under 4600 CFM. After I get the moisture barrier in I'll have a dehumidifier or conditioned air in there.

I think the correct question is did you get your money's worth. It is mid low quality, does that match what you paid? FWIW, my last house, pre-owned, mid tier builder grade, had worse than that. I think at least part of the problem was 1/2" regular drywall with insulation on top and 24" joist spacing. 5/8" drywall on ceiling is the way to go, and hire a taper/mudder who who can skim and feather well. We paid top dollar for the smooth ceiling finish in our current custom and it is perfect. Not cheap!

Holy Cr@P ! That must be the fastest mold to ever grow on a brand new home/construction, especially if it was painted too. Six months late but I would have definitely gone up in the attic to inspect for water damage via uninsulated AC vents or a drippy air handler up there., If there is a 2nd floor above then inspect any windows present over that area for poor installation or leaks. Would like to know the outcome, mold growing that fast is crazy.
