Looking to recycle concrete / tile wall pieces
Comments (1)I would first tamp down a layer of gravel about 4 inches thick and then lay another layer of sand or stone dust about 2 inches thick. After that is tamped level use some additional sand (if that is what you chose) to fill in voids where necessary. It will take some time but not that hard....See MoreAre these shower walls concrete or just look like it?
Comments (2)Yes, it does look like rendered concrete but I think that this is simply a mock-up for advertising purposes. Normal cement is too porous and would harbor too much bacteria for use in a shoper application. IT is possible to include additives which increase the water resistance of the mortar and reduce the opportunity for bacteria to establish a colony but I've not used them so I can't tell you how effective they might be. A product which IS rated for use in showers is "Fossilcrete" and you might be able to get a similar texture with that product?? The horizontal lines are created with standard cement finishing tools by scoring and embossing the surface. By the way, it's part of the new Delta Faucets advertising campaign. Comments (37)Well, don't go break the bank on something that hands out radon, or cannot be effectively cleaned without a college diploma! A very nice countertop that is a solid surface, and just simply white will be very pretty. Keep it simple, Let your floor shine. Oak and cedar wood does go with green(I call yours' Emerald and Gold....not really Forest or Pine on my monitor) just take a walk in a park or maybe just in a Nature area. There is nothing prettier than wood and green grass with the colors of birds and butterflies around. Nature does not make mistakes...so I think the counters, and the appliances as they can(need is the only thing that moves mine out)be changed to white with your sink....will be a very pleasant transition, and be careful doing that drywall painting. Your floor and your wood and your counters will need some time and effort to be duly protected. Maybe that will sink and counter top will lead you to the right shade for your walls. There are alot to choose from in just the family of lites/ whites.....See MoreDoes this concrete mold for basement walls look ok?
Comments (9)Thanks everyone. The issue is that we were initially given two subs to pick from, and were told that one of them was cheaper because he only had this one mold/form to choose from. However, I thought we went with the more expensive guy because the other guy refused to give us a quote (probably because of distance). But here recently after being on his list a little bit, we discovered we picked the guy with that mold. (Probably didn't tell us as he's worked with my father-in-law before who will be our contractor- and father-in-law didn't say anything). We are getting quotes from a couple other guys, but going to have to decide whether to stay with this guy if he ends up being cheaper, or so we don't have to wait on another guy. A little unsure how I feel about the look. From looking online, it looks like this is faux brick mold maybe, and there are some nice interior paints of it, but I cannot find a single exterior photo. My husband says we could just sure wall it or put stucco over it, but I know very little about those processes....See MoreRelated Professionals
