Hi Dee! Yep, at it again...these little suckers are growing fast! Unfortunately, I never did get any pics of the MGs...sorry :( I've got 5 (I think) plants in the pot right now, 4 are up and they are about 6" tall, heading for the ceiling fast. I'll take your advice and get a couple of them outta there. I did like the MGs last year...blooms were sparse on the smallish variety I used (Red picotee, which turned out to be more ppl than red), and I think I didn't neglect them enough...probably will do a slightly bigger pot this year with those, and just leave 'em alone. For some reason, I tend to 'baby' my office plants, even though I KNOW MGs don't like it. Will try to keep you posted on progress!

I hope your decisions pay off for you. Anyway, you'll have sexy legs and arms for summer dresses. That's very bad of people to steal your roses. I didn't move too many this year. I moved a Heritage that I was trying in late day sun but was too shaded after all. It looks like it is going to do the same thing that my other Heritages did and die back completely one cane at a time and come back from the roots. Even the little potted pieces did that. They died back and sent up new canes. It was nervous watching the first two times. A Baronne Prevost did that as well.

Yes, the garage is best for wintering them. You want to wait until you are sure they are dormant and then move them inside the garage. They don't need to be in a window or anything but do put them up on something to get them off the concrete. And water them all winter. It doesn't need to be a lot of water and maybe only once a month but make sure they get some water over the winter. You can put a shovel of snow on the top of the pot every time you shovel or pour a gallon of water on the pot once a month. Just remember to water them and they'll do much better. In the spring when it starts to warm up put them back outside. You may need to take them in and out a few times depending on the weather but they should make it through.

Hi rhizo! I was having an issue posting in the seed exchange section. I hadn't chose "United States" in my profile. It took me a while to figure out that was the problem as no alerts showed up and no one from garden forums responded to my request for help. It would be nice if a warning would come up if you don't choose your country. I'm sure I can't be the first person who did that! I have received fire, white, and yellow zinnias from trades and excited to see how they look and perform. I was not aware that the "zowie" zinnias would not produce "true". I have now received two trades of them. I'm wondering what they will look like? Will they just appear as a variation? Tony
