I have seen tables made just like that for a decorative tile....without a marking, it would ba hard to say who made it.....there were a lot of tiles made by a lot of people for a lot of years....and many had paper labels. Google "vintage art tile" and see some of what's out there. It's very nice....likely worth a couple hundred....treat it well! Linda C

Thank you all again! I did manage to get the builders name the other night, and we had never heard of him. That's unusual because I am very familiar with the custom builders around here. LOL And yes linybarts, we could be in the market to build again in the next couple of years. I don't know about you all, but in our area, people are very funny about giving out the details of their custom builds. Even though I would really only want to mimic most of the inside floor plan, and the back of the house, the bottom line is that I think it would be tacky to ask. That's why I am asking if anyone has seen this home in a SL plan. I just want to see the layout and measurements. I cannot tell you how many times I had people coming to my door when we built our last house (shown above) and the one previous to that. They first wanted to know if we would sell, and then they wanted to know the name of the plan, the builder, etc.. I even had people asking to see the layout. Well, just after a few months of moving into the previous home (the one before the house above,)some people contacted my builder, and unbeknown to us, the builder built our house plan for this couple. I had personally designed this house and we paid an architect to draw it up. We thought about suing the builder, but what good would it do? The saving grace was that the house didn't end up looking very much like ours. In fact, it was quite ugly! :)

In the upper left corner there is a cartoon figure of a man who looks familiar to me, like from something/an artist popular at that time. I've wracked my brain but cannot figure out where he might be known? If you could figure that out, you could google the artist and maybe find the wallpaper.

Assume you have contacted: I am on Cape Cod, and have had great luck with Eldred's Auction House. There are in-house appraisers. I don't know anything about this business, but it gets good reviews. Start there and see what the appraiser(s) have to say about value. Cape Ann Auction House is on Main Street in Gloucester. As an aside, there was (is?) an artist, a member of the Rockport Art Assoc. He did portraits of local famous athletes, name Joseph Santoro. Luckily, my husband was one of the athletes and we have his portrait hanging in the family room. Fast forward many years, and I am doing development work for my husband's high school. Every year I had an auction. Mr Santoro always donated one of his paintings, which generated the highest bid of the evening. I wish you the same luck with your special pieces.
