Whirlpool's best DW lines are Whirlpool Gold and Kitchenaid. We have the KA KUDS30IVSS since Oct 2009 and are very happy with it. I did a review on it here which you should be able to find by doing a search on the model #. BTW, my own practice is to buy extended warranties on anything that involves heat and steam. We've been burned on our gas range by circuit board replacements that have totaled almost the cost of a new stove. Appliances aren't made to last 20 yrs any longer. There are many here who argue against extended warranties, but on certain appliances I think it makes good sense. That's a great discount and I hope others will chime in to help you with the individual appliance choices.

Buffalotina, we have the same frig as SVS128 does and the condensation problem that I still need to address. It does seem to go away sometimes even with some veggies in the drawer but I am noticing it is back again. Overall, we really like the frig for the many reasons shared on previous threads... the most important is the enclosed long cool zone drawer making it possible to more accurately control the humidity there. We are pretty good about using the door handles and thus the prints are right there and easy to wipe up. I would recommend getting the extended warranty because parts do not seem to be inexpensive on repairing any appliance these days. Also, on any frig you should purchase but especially this one, plug the frig in before the service people leave and if it is making any amount of loud noises, DO NOT LET THEM LEAVE because you have a bad frig. That is the problem we had and if our first delivery crew had been honest, well, it would have made our lives a lot easier. We have the Electrolux French Door no ice in the door model that ends in 36 with the Cool Zone drawer. Good Luck!

Appliance dealer and the guy they sent knew everything about every appliance. He gave tips about using the GE Monogram oven and GE Monogram induction cooktop, the Miele dishwasher and the F/P dishwasher drawer. He even came back on the weekend when we discovered during the installation that the electrician had not wired properly for the induction cooktop and the installation had to be delayed until the electrician fixed the wiring. I know we probably lucked into a real gem but in general I would go with someone who did this every day for a living rather than someone who did this as part of a larger and more diversified job. HTH.

I have had good & bad expriences buying from an outlet store or scratch & dent sale. I had a good experience buying a srctah -n -dent off a box floor sale. Stove still working 5 years, using daily. I had a horrible experience buying from an outlet store. The dish washer I bought still in box, but found out it was defective on 1st use. It kept locking half cycle, etc. I tried to return it 3 days later, but found out I had to do a bunch of hoops to try to return. What a nightmare. The outlet stor sent a technician out. Technician says it is defective motherboard & it would cost more to fix than exchange for new one. So, I called to return. Then told I would have to fix it, sold as is, nothing wrong, ignores, etc. I posted a bad review of experience, then finally higher management apologized & aaccepted return. So, after that I am weary to buy from an outlet. Like someone mentioned, a lot of outlets are returns from another customer. There's a reason. It may be wrong color, but if you see more of those models there, that's a huge red flag it's that model which must have smething more wrong with it. It could also be overstock, if lucky that is what it is. It's kind of a gamble. so due your deligence & research on each purchase to lower your risk: research each model # with manufacturer (like M suggested) read the return policy & contract fully buy where return policy give some time to use appliance & return if it does not work properly buy with credit card that extends warranty. Read all terms & conditions of buying "as is" products in all your warranties. Learn how the warranty works. Some warranties extend other warranty some offer to fix if shipped but you got to pay all shipping, some offer store credit or full refund. Some are a waste of money some are worth the money.
