need help with rug for dining room

My current rug as pictured isn’t in good shape and want to get a new one. Will be getting 6 of these chairs with my farmhouse table. Don’t want anything too traditional trying to make a little more modern. Please help! Thx!

Comments (3)The other colors in the house are neutrals, beige, light gray and cream. Open concept area. The kitchen has cream colored cabinets with a brown and off white counter top. I need some color and don't know if I should go with a round rug or 8x10 . The light definitely must go, contractor special. I usually choose neutral colors and add accessories with color because I can change them with the seasons or if I get bored. My style is eclectic, pottery barn, traditional, country cottage. Comments (17)For rug size, add 36-42" to each side of the table top. Tape that out with painter's tape on the floor. If your taped rug runs into baseboards or furniture that is against the walls, you don't have floor space for one here. Is there an 8th chair? The smallest rug you could get by with would be one only 24" larger than each side for chair scoot and sit space, but it will look skimpy with the heavy visual of the chunky table legs....See MoreRelated Professionals

PRO5 months agoIt looks like you need chairs with wood legs, to help them fit the current table and chandelier you have. You don't have to have a rug, but there are many options out there. Perhaps take a look at a few of the dining room designs we have done. They might be able to help you more with your dilemma.
