Anyone growing stylophorum (lasiocarpum)?

I grew some last year and was surprised it was such a robust and imposing plant. Had thought it was much daintier. This year, it is now enormous with leaves which are over a foot long and 8 inches wide, covering about 3 feet of space. One plant!. If it continues to grow at this rate it will be off to the compost pile...or am I doing something wrong? It could probably do with a bit more sun (it is shaded by a large ceonothus but is still in a south facing bed. Am wondering if I am getting massive foliage at the expense of blooms as it only has 5or6 flowers in bloom at any time.
