What color floor for cohesion?

last month

Ready to pick flooring for my current renovation. The rest of the house is hardwood red oak finished with bona natural. The room I’m currently renovating was originally carpeted. The room is high traffic with both garage and patio access, so I’d like to lay a laminate so it’s easier to clean. My thought was to go with a darker brown to create contrast rather than try to match the original red oak. I don’t love any of the samples. I’d just like the flooring to flow together and not look jarring. The top of the steps is where the red oak stops - with a clear view downstairs to this room. Thoughts on what color to go with?
